Thirty Four

📍12th April 2022 - New York, USA

After finding out that Francesca had gone into labour, Amber couldn't wait to leave Perth and head straight for America, where she could see her best friend and their new arrival.

So, as soon as the weekend was over, they booked flights to New York immediately. Lando and Blake also travelled to the Big Apple with them, both equally as excited.

Daniel had felt a slight disappointment after realising that Amber had definitely found the ring and hadn't mentioned it once to him yet, cancelling the plans he'd made with his sister to ultimately propose the previous weekend.

Amber hadn't wanted to mention it as she knew that it would crush Daniel if he found out that she had discovered the ring. And for her, she'd forgotten about leaving it out in plain sight so she was none the wiser of Daniel's feelings at this current time.

Daniel kept thinking about why Amber hadn't spoken about it. It was a massive thing for her to find and he found it incredibly weird that it hadn't been spilling out of her mouth almost immediately after finding it.

If it hadn't of been for Francesca and her early labour, Amber was sure she would've mentioned it to him, but she found herself completely preoccupied with going to buy baby clothes and toys between watching Daniel race; which he did marvellously this weekend.

He ended up on the podium again, only in P2 as Max achieve pole once more. He seemed more unstoppable than ever before and Daniel had forgotten just how good of a driver Max is.

But he was sure, with a little bit more time behind the wheel of the Red Bull, Daniel may be able to pull some pole positions for himself.

Settling into their hotel room, Daniel thought he would try and broach the subject now, as he had waited almost ten days to talk with Amber about the situation. He had been surprised with how he had even been able to focus this weekend due to the thoughts in his mind.

Did she not want to marry him?

Daniel knew that Amber wanted children and to settle down a little more than they currently were and even though their relationship seemed relatively perfect at the moment, he couldn't help but think the worse.

Why hadn't she mentioned it?

Blake barged into the room as he swung his car keys around his index finger with Lando following closely behind with a big bouquet of flowers and a hamper filled with blue themed baby items.

"Oh Lando, they're gorgeous." Amber commented as she rested her hands across her hips and looked towards Daniel's ex-teammate.

"I can't wait to meet him. I wonder if he looks like Fran or Mike?" Lando said with a smile on his face.

Amber moved across the room to pick up two large gift bags and another bunch of flowers she had ordered to the hotel room for when they arrived. They array of blue and white flowers stood out from Lando's red and yellow ones.

"Where did you get blue flowers from?" Lando asked with a whine in his voice.

"Blue flowers aren't rare, Lan." Daniel laughed as he sat on the edge of the bed and tied his shoelaces.
