"I understand son" hershal said. About then headlights were scene and the truck pulled up with 2 guys . One of them Shane. They brought the supplies needed . Hershal said the surgery would take hours and I know how I get when I have to sit still so I decided to go get my bike.
"I'ma go get the bike I'll be back ." I told Rick he padded my shoulder.
"I'll drive u to the highway" the girl I now know as Maggie said
I just nodded .as me and the girl pulled off she asked. "Y are you all searching our woods anyway?" "Got pinned by a heard lil girl ran off was trying ta find her" I answered blankly.
"Ur pops gunna mind us camin on his land till we find her and Lita gets better?" I asked
"I'll make him mind " she said and I just looked at her and nodded
When we reached the highway I exited the car. "Hey I'll hang out and make sure y'all get back ok"
I nodded at Maggie and went to tell Dale. After explaining what happened carol was demanding to stay there in case . I told her we would check everyday but she still demanded. "My fuckin wife got shot looking for ya brat. I'ma help u but fuckin cooperate " I screamed. She was deadly silent and simply got on the rv. I got on my bike and we all followed Maggie to her home.
When we arrived hershal was outside. He had blood over him and I dropped the bike and panicked walking to him.
"She's alright son. I got out everything she's in pain but she is awake and is begging for you. " He said I didn't respond I just ran past him to Lita.
When I reached the room she was lying down i could hear her sobbing.
"Baby " I said going to the side of the bed
"Where did u go? U left me here with them" she said . She's not even looking at me and it's killing me.
"Baby he said it would take hours. I ran to get the bike I swear" " I'm not leaving u again" she looked at me and relief washed over when she reached for me. I nelt down next to the bed and kissed her. I kissed her with everything I have. I love this woman and she's giving me the same if not more. She tried to not break away but she began coughing and crying in pain.
Hershal appeared in the door way . He offered Lita pain killers and she gladly accepted. They knocked her out thank god. I stayed in that room for 6 days before Rick asked me to help with the search. Apparently I'm the only one who knows anything about the woods here.carol was being a bitch but it's not my fault. Lita was sitting up and was gunna walk today.
She begged and begged to go to our tent. Hershal said ok long as I keep her bandages clean . I was helping her to our tent when carol approached. I motioned for her to keep quiet and helped Lita lie down. "Baby I'ma go search for Sofia now " "are you gunna be ok"
" I need the pain meds and yea I'm just gunna sleep" she said
I reached in the bag hershal gave me and got her meds out. I have her her pills and she laid right down. Within minutes she was giving her cute little snores so I just kissed her head and exited our tent.

Carol was still there. "What" I asked
" No one else is looking please I need u" she said with what appeared to be puppy dog eyes.
"I'm goin u just make sure no one bothers her" I said pointing at Lita asleep in the tent.
Carol nodded and got her chair to sit and watch Lita .
I left to go looking for the kid and ended up at a old farm house. I went inside and searched . I found a pantry with a small blanket and pillow in it. I looked into the trashcan and noticed a can of tuna but it was wet inside. Like like it had just been eatin.
I ran outside and yelled "SOFIA!" Repeatedly. but no answer. I looked forward seeing a Cherokee rose bush . I picked the two blooms and started walking back. I was near the river when I tucked the blooms into my belt. I suddenly felt the ground shake as the cliff face gave way. I heard what sounded like a child scream.

I awoke to being shaken. I could hear a far away voice saying "Mr Dixon please wake up." I shot my eyes open to see a banged up Sofia in front of me.
I tried to stand but was hit with a wave of pain I'd never felt. I looked to see a arrow in my side. I looked at Sofia she had tears in her eyes. "It's ok Sofia calm down we just gotta get outa here. " I forced myself to stand

We walked back up the ridge slowly and once we reached the top we walked back to camp. I was in souch pain and I was exhausted. I had to get Sofia back though. I still had her hand when we breached the treeline. I heard someone scream WALKER! THEN I HEARD A BAND AND EVERYTHING WENT BLACK.
