It's only been a few hours since the events of Kyoshi Island and in those hours you spent a good chunk explaining your situation to your saviors. You honestly didn't know what you would have done if they hadn't been around to help you.

They explained that they had just recently left the South Pole with the avatar to find a waterbending teacher for him. That sounded like a fun and dangerous adventure.

You wanted to be a part of that.

"Well, first you would need to pass the requirements to join us." Sokka said as he rubbed his chin before Katara elbowed him in the side which received an "OW!" from Sokka.

"Ignore my brother. We would love to have you join us. It's nice to find another waterbender from our tribe." Katara said with a smile.

"The feeling is mutual. I thought I'd never meet another waterbender." You replied.

"Hold on. If you're from our tribe," Sokka butts in again, "How come we don't recognize you?" He said in a suspicious tone.

You looked at him a little confused.

"Do you have dirt in your ears? They already told us that their father was a warrior from our tribe." Katara responded visibly annoyed by her brother.

"Well excuuuse me that I have other things on my mind," Sokka replied as he crossed his arms.

"What like that Kyoshi warrior?" She poked. Sokka blushed and turned away in a huff. You chuckled a little.

It was only then that you felt the wind on your skin. You almost forgot you were on a flying animal. As you all flew over the land and sea you finally felt relaxed. As you leaned on the edge of the saddle you asked Katara what the tribe was like. She was happy to fill you in on the things you didn't have the chance to grow up with. As well as sharing your childhood growing up in the forest and in the trees.

It was nice.

"HOW COULD YOU LOSE HIS TRAIL!!" Zuko yelled at his navigator.

"They flew into the clouds."

"THAT'S NOT AN EXCUSE! FIND HIM!" He yelled and stormed out.

"Is it just me or does the prince seem a little more agitated than usual?" a member of the crew whispered as soon as Zuko was out of earshot.

"Don't you know? The waterbender made a run for it." Another replied.

"Yeah, and they went with the avatar too." Someone else chimed in.

"Oh, I didn't know he would be that upset about it."

"Yeah, I guess he was got used to them around."

"You don't think he.."

"oh no of course not. That would be impossible."

"I don't know...with how much he's upset,  he might."

"shh-don't let him hear you say that. Come on, be sensical here."

"Both of you drop it." The captain said as he was tired of the conversation.

As Zuko stood on the balcony, looking through his telescope looking for any sign of the flying beast, or the avatar.

He reassured himself that now he didn't have any distractions, he could fully prioritize the capture of the avatar-which was always his priority.

Only the avatar.

'Why is my life like this?'

You thought to yourself as you stood there watching Aang fight a crazy king while your whole body was being encased by crystal. You couldn't even sit down if you wanted to since the crystal had already grown down your legs.
