This is a fix

This is a fix. Aunt had summoned me again to check Diya's math solving skills. She is skilled. She is brilliant. Even I was. But at this position, I feel the dumbest.
No, I'm not dumb at math. I'm rather dumb at handling this one-sided thingy.

My notions complicated themselves more when I spotted Diya staring at me. Not once. But twice. This is weird. She had never bothered herself for looking at me but yesterday. I cannot be wrong. I really did see her staring at my face and when i happened to look at her, she didn't hesitate, she stayed rigid with the eye contact intact. Instead, I became nervous. Sweaty and palpitating.

Even now, when I sit in front of her, across the table, she doesn't even cast a glance at me. She is busy studying, as she should be.

As I sit in front of her, doing nothing, but fantasize my one sided affection, I cannot restrain, but think -
If I were asked which part of her face I like the most? I were to answer - her dark circles. Those dark circles are pristine in my eyes. Those semicircular light brown patches that reign her under eye region, say a lot about her. This is what I like to think. I also think, this is true. All her hardwork, her sincerity, her compassion, affection, ambition, and open mindedness. Oh, how bad does she want to prove herself! She wants to show the world how despite being a girl, as the world stereotypes, she can be the woman king, rather than a damsel in distress.

Oh I love her.

If she ever chose me, allowed me, gave me a chance to stand by her, I would accompany her to bring the sky at her feet, to make the sky her own, name it as her own.

If I were to be her life partner, I would never chop her capable wings down, just to stay at a higher page. I would never repeat what Baba did to Maa. I would never. I would love her. I would let her fly and give her an extra hand, when she needs.

"How to solve this?" Diya voice broke my trance.

I got a little worked up, which her keen eyes did not unnotice.

She left her chair and walked upto me.
"Umm...Are you crying?" She spoke softly.

"Ah, no," I stood up, tried to shake away the tension. "Some dust, perhaps."

"Don't lie, please," She spoke straight. "If you cry a little in front of me, neither would it reduce the respect I have for you, nor would it make you less handsome."

She looked at me, smiled a little. I giggled.

"I don't know if you are comfortable in sharing your problems with me. But whatever it is, don't worry. It will, all pass."

"Haha..You've grown up, it seems. Even a couple of years ago you were angry at God when it rained while you were asleep because you wanted to dance in the rain but couldn't."

"Dhurr" She faked disgust at this reference. But broke down into fits of laughter a minute later.

Too many moments in the stomach. I cannot afford staying a little longer here, with her. What if I faint?

"I shall get going. It's time, now," I said smartly(this is what I like to believe).

I had started stepping out of the room, when she called out to me. I stopped and turned back. She walked upto me and whispered, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
