Sicre
"Sicre?" I turn to Amer who sits on my right. "Zee. She doesn't remember me too," he gives a faint hurtful smile.
"Did you talk to her?"
"No. I couldn't bring myself to. But we made eye contact a few times. She really doesn't remember me. Her amnesia goes way back."
I feel a tug of pain for him. How did I let this happen?
"She'll remember the both of you. It'll take time but I'm sure she will," Reece says, sitting on my left.
"When, Reece? It's easy for you to say. You're her fucking present and you've got nothing to worry about, swaying her with your face." I don't see where this is coming from. I don't want the margaritas hitting now. I don't want to sound like this to my best friend. But I've noticed him and Zee together a lot throughout the party. I don't mean to be defensive. Why do I care?!
Darkness falls upon his gray eyes. He scoffs. "Whatever."
I'm so close to fuming but Melinda had spun the bottle and it lands on... Naureen. Everyone cheers.
"Truth or dare, Naureen?"
"Hm... truth."
Melinda snorts. "Coward. So, what's the worse thing you've ever done to someone?"
"I- I uh... hurt someone?" Her voice twitches. "Without knowing what actually happened."
I knew it was Zee she was referring to.
"Oh? And who's that someone?" Melinda asks, adding fuel to the truth.
"Turn's over, Meli." Naureen smirks and crawls in between to spin the bottle again.
It lands on Chloe and she squeals.
"Truth or dare?"
"Watch this, losers! Imma show you how to not be a pussy." Chloe smiles smugly, "Dare."
"Flirt with the bartender, call him sexy, and get his number. Simple," Naureen shrugs.
Oh, Perry better watch his back.
Chloe stands up and walks toward the bar. We observe her the whole time. She touches his arm, whispers something in his ear, and asks for his number, which he reluctantly gives! She displays a middle finger to Naureen and comes back.
"My muh my turn~!"
Chloe spins the bottle and it feels like it takes forever for it to find its owner. The bottle comes to a halt and lands on Reece.
"Reece, babe, truth or dare?"
"Dare."
A mischievous smile forms on her lips. "I dare you to kiss, Zee."
Melinda screams. "Now that's what I call a game!"
"What? No! You can't do that. Where's my consent?!" Zee sits straight.
My guts feel twisted. Why am I jealous? What's wrong with me today? Or any other day I'm with Zee?
"Oh, everything's fair in truth or dare. Consent is thrown out the window. Once you're in, you keep aside all of it," Chloe bickers.
I see Zee's cheeks getting red and she shuts up.
"Go on, ya two."
Reece gives me a side eye and smirks.
Fucker.
He gets up, standing in between, and extends an arm to Zee. She looks at it and then at him as if looking for some escape. Or maybe I'm imagining that. Maybe she wants him equally as much as he wants her. Maybe, but what if not?—
