Chapter 10

The next morning eda woke up in Raines arms, she sat up and smiled with a light pink hue in her cheeks as she looked down at them sleeping, and smiled. She got up and quickly got ready for the day incase Raine woke up, she didn't really want to be in a embarrassing situation this early in the morning. While she was putting her hair up, she got a reminder on her phone. She looked at it, and her mood immediately changed, then she left her hair down. "Only for you, ezmeri.. " she mumbled. "Ezmeri? Who's that?" Raine asked, making eda jump. "Raine! Jeez you scares me" she said  with a light chuckle. "Sorry about that, calamity, but who's ezmeri?" They asked again with a smile. Eda's face turned a a sad expression, but she kept a brave face. "Ah, d-dont worry about it" she said with a weak smile then left the room. Raine was a little confused, they didn't know why she was suddenly upset, and now they questioned, who's ezmeri?. They went to their own room to get dressed and went to their office they shared with her, to see if she was okay.  They went in and saw eda looking at a picture, sulking. "Hey, calamity, you alright?" They asked, eda quickly looked up and cleared her throat. "Yeah, yeah what's up?" She asked. Raine was not getting a little worried. "Eda.. You can talk to me, what's up?" They asked. Eda sighed, then looked at the picture. "Nothing.. I'm okay" she said not even bothering to look up which bothered Raine. "Are you sure? You seem a little down they said to her. "Raine, I'm fine" she said with a slight sterness in her voice. Raine could tell she was lying. "Calamity, I only want to help" they said in a soft voice. "I don't need help! I said I'm fine!" She said getting up and leaving the room. Just then her sister walked in, but she had accidentally left the picture behind. Raine looked at it, it was a picture of her and a girl with dark blonde hair and green eyes, labeled.

"Raine, is something wrong with my sister?" She asked. "Yeah.. But I'm not sure what" they said, then Lilith noticed the picture they were holding. "Has she been sulking with that photo all morning?" She asked, Raine nodded. Lilith then looked at the date and sighed. "Oh.. I get it" she said which caught Raines attention. "What's going on?" Raine asked. "Well, all  really allowed to say is.. Ezmeralda was edalyns first partner.." Lilith said and Raine sighed. "She threaned to break your arm?" Raine asked. "My neck.. " Lilith said with a 'save me' look in her eyes. "O-oh.. Uh..i.. Il go talk to her" they said, but they didn't even know where she went, but they had an idea. They went to her room and rightss they were about to knock, she walked out and bumped into them.  "R-rainestorm!" She blurted out as she stepped back. Then Raine took her hand. "You alright, calamity?" They asked. "Y-yeah, I was um.. Looking for you actually" she said. "Heh, I guess we had the same idea" Raine said in a light chuckle.  Eda started blushing, and ran her hand through her hair. "If you don't want to talk about it, I won't force you, but if you do, I'm happy to listen" Raine said to her. Eda smiled and took their hand and took them I'm her room and owed the door. Unfortunately darius saw this from afar. And was dying of silent laughter. "Damn.. But who's top?" Darius asked himself, just then alador walked up being him. "That would be me" he said making darius go red. "Hack.. " he mumbled.

With eda and raine:
Eda and Raine sat down together, Raine waited untill she was ready. "So.. You wanna apologize?" They ask with a smirk. Eda looked at them with a look that said 'bitch please'   "apologizing is for the weak and wrong, and I am neither, the audacity" she scoffed. Making Raine chuckle. "Wow.. Not sure weather to call you strong minded or just stubborn" they said teasing making her smile. "I'm.. Guessing you talked to lily" she asked, they nodded. "Okay, I won't crack her neck, how much did she tell you?" Eda asked. "Promise?" Raine asked with a crooked smile, eda nodded.  "She told me about.. Someone named, ezmeralda" Raine said. Eda laid her head on their shoulder.  Eda sighed, "ezmeralda.. Was my first partner.. And my best friend" eda said. Which worried Raine a bit. "What happened?" They asked. Eda handed Raine her phone with the reminder pulled up.

Raine was shocked, and held eda. "I'm sorry, calamity" they said in a soft voice. Eda's eyes started welling up, "s-she died.. Saving me.. " eda mumbled, as tears started going down her face.  "Eda.. When did it happen?" They asked. "A year ago.. I miss her so much" eda said as she silently cried.  And Raine kept her close.

Ezmeralda's POV:
Eda and I were running down a hallway being chased by some goons that belong to a known gang. When we got to the end, we realized that it was a dead end. There was a large window, one that someone could most likely jump out of...or be thrown out of... "Ezmir! How do we get out of this!?" Eda asks me frantically. She was still relatively new and would often ask me what to do next. They we tree nearing closer to us and I knew that we only had a few seconds to react. So...with a heavy heart...I opened the window...and pushed Eda out of it. I watched as she fell into the water below. I turned around and...

Eda's POV:
"Ezmir! How do we get out of this!?" I asked her frantically. I could tell that they were getting closer and that we didn't have much time. I watched as a sorrowful expression grew on her face. She sighed, opened the window behind me...and pushed me out. I plummeted downwards, expecting to hit the ground. How could she do this to be...my best friend. But to my surprise...I landed in water. Before I could swim up to the surface...I heard a gunshot and something else land in the water. I swam over to the other object only to realize that...I was her...it was Ezmeralda...

End of Flashback:
Eda was still crying in Raine's arms as they held her close. After about 20 minutes, Eda started to calm down. She looked back at Raine and said, "Dp you really want to know what happened?" She asked weakly. "Only if you're comfortable with telling me." Raine responded softly. Eda sighed and said, "Okay..."

She recounted the entire story to Raine. When she finished, she looked back at Raine and saw the most shocked and sorrowful expression she had ever seen on their face. "Oh Eda..." Raine says and pulls Eda closer as she begins to cry again. "I just don't understand why she didn't follow me out of the window." Eda says through tears.

"Well...if she did...they would have seen her jump and would assumed that you had jumped as well." Raine said, trying to comfort her which kind of helped. "I just...miss her so much..." Eda cried. "I know how you feel. I lost my mom only a few years ago:" Raine said sadly, recalling the memory. "Well...you seem okay. How did you move on?" Eda asked. "Raine hugged her once again and said, "I didn't."

They bother just sat there holding each other for an hour, until Lilith came in to check on them. "Are you two okay?" Lilith ask's concerned, while entering the room. She see Eda and Raine sleeping together, and is both amused and relieved. "Heh. Can't go one day without this gay shit." Lilith chuckle to herself. "And now I got to deal with it from Darius too." She says leaving the room.
