I huff in annoyance for my situation. I'm in chains yet again, but this time there are four burly men holding the shackles so tight that im stuck lying spread eagle with my face to the dirt. After I ripped Daniel's heart out and fed it to him, all hell broke loose. Many of the spectators ran screaming, while others raised their arms to cheer for me. I would be lying if I said that i didn't enjoy it. I was quickly caught by Scar, but my wolf was in control and he had to get reinforcements. I have apologized numerous times for the deep scratches that I added to his face, I don't know why because he surely doesn't deserve my apologies, but he's still hovering above me with an acidic glare. I know that he's secretly impressed and maybe even happy about the results of the fight, I saw him almost smile when they dragged the body away. I had glanced up at Joseph right after I killed Daniel, and even in my blood-lusting haze I felt a pang of regret when I saw the disgust on his face.
He hates me, I'm a monster.
The monster in me is still fighting to stay in control, my eyes still a blazing yellow flashing to black. I take deep breaths and imagine myself in a throne with a crown on my head, eating figs while a hot boy in only jeans fans me with palm fronds. Hey, whatever works right? My relaxation, if you can call it that, is interrupted by an intoxicating smell. My wolf howls at the overpowering odor before a deep voice speaks from right next to me.
"Men, you're service is no longer needed here. This wolf is now my property." His voice is cold and hard and carries authority. I feel the tension in my limbs dull as my captors leave without another word, their heads bowed in respect. "This wolf is now my property." Well fuck. If it wasn't already mortifying to be captured and then forced to fight like a dog, being sold to some random for my body doesn't do much to heal my ego.
Rough hands grab my chin and turn my head around, effectively flipping me onto my back. I grit my teeth against the pain in my sore jaw and the blood re-pooling in my mouth. I may be a werewolf with super-healing, but a beating like that will take weeks to completely heal. As if sensing my discomfort his hold on my jaw loosens, but is still painful. Still I am paralyzed by that overpowering scent.
"Open your eyes little wolf, " he growls. I flinch back, not even realizing that my eyes had been closed but not any more eager to comply. From the sound of his voice he is a bigger monster than I am. "I said open your eyes!" He suddenly roars, every bit of authority seeping into his voice. My eyes snap open of their own accord and my breath catches in my chest. Beautiful, so beautiful. Two deep blue orbs stare back at me. At first they are hard and cold, but begin to soften the longer we stare at eachother. My eyes wander down to his straight nose and intense gaze and linger on his full lips. His skin is tanned and freckles dot his cheeks. He has sandy blonde hair that rests just above his shoulders in a way that has heat pooling in my belly.
That smell.
I must seem really creepy as I lean in and take a whiff of his musky odor of wet leaves and spice, but sue me! The man smells damn good.
Again my wolf howls, and an urge to reach out and touch him settles into my skin, causing my palms to burn as I resist the pull. He doesn't, however, and his thumb trails along my jaw to rest on my bottom lip.
Mine, ours.
"That's what I thought," he said more to himself than me, "I could smell you from a mile away. Alright little wolf, up." His voice returns to it's usual cold and detached manner as he drags me off of the ground by my arms. I suck in a breath when I start to really feel my body. My knees are weak and pain radiates from my ribs and back. I know that I have broken ribs, I can feel the bones rubbing as I try to walk. I keep a straight face however, afraid to show weakness infront of our mate.
Wait what?! No, this asshole cannot be our mate. But he is gorgeous...
He watches me with a cold glare as I hobble to stand next to him, keeping my eyes fixed on the ground. I'm usually not submissive and it kills me to act like it, but I'm no match for an Alpha in my weakened state, and maybe not when I'm healthy either.
Hold up! Alpha?! Yes, that is right. Somehow my wolf knows that our mate is an Alpha.
He circles me, his eyes appraising my body. I feel my face heat up before my wolf snaps at us with her always sassy tone. He's just checking out our injuries dipshit. Suddenly my legs are in the air and I squeal. Muscular arms are wrapped under my knees and around my back as he carries me bridal style. Who does this asshole think he is just picking me up like that? Oh, right, im "property."
"Not very talkative are you?" He says. It takes me a minute to detach my eyes from his pouted lips and up to his eyes. When I do I see that he's watching me with a cold stare and a blush covers my cheeks and ears. I simply shake my head. "Good." I scowl at his profile. Five minutes in and I already want to punch him.
He carries me through the dense crowd and toward the metal doors that I first came through. I can feel hundreds of eyes boring into me and I hide my face in the crook of his warm neck. He lets out a low growl that has everyone looking anywhere but at me.
My body starts to shake as I finally come out of shock. Pain, so much pain causes my breath to come out in short spurts. If getting my ass beat wasn't enough, now I have a mate... a terrifying, cold hearted beast of a man. A monster.
No different than you, my wolf chides and I roll my eyes at her.
His grip tightens around me as I continue on my way to a melt down. The doors are opened for us and we walk out into a dark forest. Wait what?! I try to look over his shoulder, thinking that we must have left through different doors than what i thought, but all that stands behind us is a small rundown shack.
"Magic," his warm breath tickles my cheek. I look up at him, but his impassive stare is fixed on the woods infront of us.
Now that we are away from the noise and stares of the crowd my body begins to relax, no longer shaking at the pain I feel. Now I just feel numb and dead tired. I fall asleep to the feel of his warm arms around me and the comforting smell of the forest, my home.
