The Moon shown down on my face, the smell of her magic awakening my soul.

Open your eyes, come to me.

His voice hummed within me, his words warming my core, forcing my legs to stand. I felt as if my body were it's own, and I was merely a passenger along for the ride.

My legs carried me through the dark forest where I had awoken, confused and surprisingly at peace. My normally racing mind has quieted, my burning soul an ebbing flame.

Through the dark i saw him, felt him, bathed in moonlight. He stood there in the water, covered to his waste, his head back as he let the light entrance him.

Come to me.

Underneath the peaceful haze, my heart thumped uncomfortably in my chest, fighting the abnormal feeling. My wolf was quiet, watching from the same haze as I.

And so I went, into the water that chilled and lapped at my tender skin, until I stood beside him.

A God.

Power radiated from his being, his aura blazing under the strength of the moon. His body was rigid, every muscle working and moving under his skin.

"What are you?" A whisper was all that I could muster.

Suddenly his eyes opened wide, his once green orbs an electrifying, glowing ice blue. He stared into me, past my eyes and into my soul, our soul, she and I.

"I am Mathias, the moon's chosen son."

In the stillness of the night, his words were true. She shown down brilliantly on the face of her heir. I could feel her love, as if my feeble hands could grasp it.

"Who am I?" again, another whisper into the void. He did not answer, but his eyes bored into mine with unspoken words. I knew then, everything was about to change.

I had felt it before, on runs through the night with Raja. A feeling that started at the base of my neck, a shimmer of recognition, a glimmer of something to come. Like thousands of eyes drilling holes through my skin.

And again, when Joseph had shown me kindness, when my hand tightened around Daniel's warm heart, when Sinn found me. I had never felt important before, I had never felt like there was more to my life than surviving.

Why me?

I was lost in my own mind, my darkest and oldest friend. Suddenly, a hand was on my throat, lightly, a feathers touch. I closed my eyes, unable to move. Slowly, he pushed my head back, taking in my scent at my collar, his lips brushing softly against my pulse. He was magic, moonlight itself. He called to my soul, to my wolf, and she was hooked.

"Mathias...." my breath came out in bursts as he caught my neck between his teeth.

"Shhh..." Stay with me.

Our wolves assessed each other through hooded eyes, appraising, admiring. The darkness in him called to mine, setting a fire in my belly.

The peace I felt with him, a stranger, was unnerving. If I were able to feel anything other than his skin against mine, his heart beating in rhythm with my own, I would have felt guilt. Somewhere out there, alone, Sinn was most likely losing his mind. The mating pull was impossible to ignore, it was there, but this pull was so much more. It called not only to my soul, but to my wolf's, in a way she had never felt before.
