Chapter 26

*Alice's POV*

" What are you doing here?" I asked, hiding the cruelty in my voice.

" I- uh, wanted to see how you were. We split on bad terms. Plus, I noticed Sarah lived by you & yeah," Brendon scratched the back of his neck.

I clenched my fists when he said her name. One part of me just wanted to beat the living crap out of him. Another wanted me to just melt into his arms. And the other wanted me to just break down & cry right there. I wanna do all of the above right now.

" Yeah, well I'm fine. You don't have to check up on me. I can handle myself," I crossed my arms.

" Yeah I know. I just wanted to see your face again."

" How do you even remember where I live? If you can't even remember my fucking number on your contact list or my voice on the phone, you should NOT remember where I live."

" Alice, I knew that was you. When I called? Yeah I wanted to hear your voice."

" Whatever. Just leave." Please don't leave.

" But-" Please stay.

" Leave Brendon. I'm having someone over."

" Seriously? Like at 9:30? Is it Jessie?"

" Honestly it's none of your business. Just leave. If you really wanna talk, just text me or something. Don't check up on me. I'm not a child."

" Okay. I'm sorry about before though."

" Me too," I sighed.

" I'll be going now." Please don't.

" Okay bye." I still love you.

He was gone. I watched his car leave my driveway. I locked my door & went back to the couch. All I thought about was cereal. It's the fastest meal to make. I NEED FOOD.

I quickly ran to my small kitchen & poured me some Rice Krispy's. I sat on the couch & ate it. I heard my door knock again. Can it actually be Ryan this time? I held my cereal bowl in one hand & opened the door with the free one. Thank God, it was Ryan.

He came back with the same clothing & a black backpack. I welcomed him in. He chuckled.

" What?" I said, some food in my mouth.

" You're adorable," he said. I smiled.

" Go change into something more comfortable. I'll be out here. You can either change in the bathroom or my room," I said.

He went to my bedroom & closed the door, not fully. It was cracked open just a little bit. I saw him remove his shirt, then I looked away. I focused on the TV. Soon, Ryan came back out wearing a black V-neck ( A/N: OMG HAVE YOU NOT SEEN RYAN ROSS IN A V-NECK?! Like seriously, Ya needa look it up if you haven't.) & gray sweats the gripped onto your ankles.

He looked over at my pile of video games & back at me. He smirked. " Are you a gamer?"

" Yes I sure am!" I replied.

" Do you have Halo?" He asked.

" All of them. Yes. I basically grew up with Halo."

I changed the channel in the TV so it'd show the Xbox home screen. Ryan turned on my Xbox & inserted Halo 3. I watched him play campaign for a few hours.

*hours later*

" I FINALLY BEAT IT!" Ryan jumped up in excitement.

" Took you that long? What a shame, Ross. What a shame," I chuckled.

" It was on the hardest difficulty Al! Cut me some slack," he looked at me.

I stuck my tongue out at him & giggled. I grabbed my cereal bowl & put it in the sink. I started doing the dishes. Nearly finished, I felt arms wrap around my waist. I turned around to see Ryan standing there. He rested his chin on my shoulder.

" You sleepy?" I asked softly.

" Mmhmm," he said. I looked over at my shoulder & saw his eyelids slowly falling.

Finally I finished the dishes. I turned off my Xbox & TV. Then I turned off the lights in the living room & kitchen. I led us to my bedroom. My bed was already fixed. I turned on Netflix & continued watching Vampire Diaries Season 2.

Ryan laid on his side & drifted off to sleep. I turned down the volume on my TV. I watched him sleep for a little while. A few minutes later, he wrapped me in his arms. He cuddled into me like a little kitten. Soon, I fell asleep too.
