Chapter 6: The Death Of A Hero

You meet up with Paul. Professor McGonagall is there too.

"Where's professor Slughorn?" you ask.

"Other side of the school. Helping Molly and the Weasleys." professor McGonagall asks.

"What's happening here?" Ame chimes in.

"The spiders are loose and the greenhouse teachers have let the plants and trees go rampant, giving us an advantage in the fight."

Death Eaters escape here and there, apparating in dark cloaks of smoke and entering through Hogwarts windows where more face to face fights with teachers and students alike happen up close. You propose about the owl idea.

"Professor, Harry's in the Dark Forest and there's no one else we could ask. May we finally use the owls in combat?"

"Oh fine! Get the owls from the owlery!"

You and Paul hurriedly get on your broom as Ame summons hers. You head to the owlery, zooming past Death Eaters and flying spells. Hogwarts is very much in ruins now and all the fighting needs to stop at once. You reach the owlery and get inside, opening all the cages and letting all the owls out.

"Athena! Where are you?"

"Hermes! Come here, Hermes!"

Both owls land on their respective owners arms and you leave with a massive flock behind you heading into the school. You go back to the west side to meet up with professor McGonagall.

"Professor! The owls are out and we need to unite the school again! Get to the courtyard! They need all the extra help we can give!"

"Oh, I hope Potter doesn't take long."

They slowly make their way to the courtyard as you head to the other side of the school.

"Accio paper! Accio pen!"

A pen and paper enters your open palm and you hurriedly write a letter saying:

"Dear Newton,

Thank you for the opaleye. It really aided in the battle. I'm sending Athena back to you so you can have this letter and the information that Hogwarts is in trouble. If you have more time, please send more beasts. P.S. Hagrid says you're the person who gave him Aragog. The giant spider? Anyways, we thank you for your support."

You sign it and tie it to Athena's leg.

"Look for him again. We need all the aid we can get." you tell her.

You set her off on her way and you continue to head to professor Slughorn's location.

"Professor! Mrs. Weasley! Professor McGonagall is moving the west team towards the courtyard. If you would be able to do the same, I'd appreciate it."

Professor Slughorn turns back.

"Remus! Take Tonks and the rest of the Order to the courtyard! We're moving!"

"Thank you, children for informing us." Mrs. Weasley says.

You nod and make your way to the courtyard where all hell was let loose. Fires blazing everywhere. Matagots running around, multiplying and being flung back. Piles of rubble acting as hiding places. Zouwus slicing their way through crowds. Witches and wizards defending against the Death Eaters. Dementors making their way over the bridge. Trolls and orcs holding boulders and clubs, smashing and pounding walls and columns. Spiders spinning webs and trapping prey. Dragons with mouths steaming and wings flapping. You get the picture. 

You land amidst everyone and the owls start descending from the sky. Thousands of talons and beaks slash through the air. Some pickup rocks and drop them on people's heads. Some disarm wizards and witches. Some pull robes and hair, forcing Death Eaters to trip and fall. Others take matagots and fly away with them. It was a raining cats and dogs type of situation. The zouwus are very irritated and turn their attention to the owls, but the owls were quick-witted and the claw at their eyes, blinding them and making them apparate away. The dragons are confused at what's happening as if the owls just overtook their roles in battle. 

The ghosts of Hogwarts exit through the front gates and behold the spectacle in front if their eyes. They charge and zoom through the air, hitting whatever they can. Just then, groups 1 and 2 reunite in the courtyard and the odds just became more favorable as the battlefield erupts into a harmony of cheers and spell casting. 

The matagot problem has been dealt with and most of the zouwus are gone. The Death Eaters are already starting to retreat into the Forest and the Dementors are being kept at bay. The dragons are nowhere to be found, so they must be with some of the professors, being returned to their enclosures. The owls are returning to the owlery, but you don't see Hagrid anywhere. 

Once everything was cleared, everyone enters back inside the school and a casualty check occurs. Many have fallen, and that includes Tonks, Lupin, and Fred Weasley. You weep and a lot of tears fall as the sun rises. After that, they celebrate on behalf of those whom they lost. The Great Hall may be in ruins, but it still serves its purpose. Food is given out and festivities happen. 

But then you hear a marching of footsteps outside. You leave the Hall with Neville to check. There he was. The Dark Lord himself with Hagrid carrying someone behind him.

"HARRY POTTER IS DEAD!!!!"
