"Three headed dog, our sigil is a three headed dragon!" Davina declared the next morning over breakfast. "Thats so cool, where was it?"
"No, no, no Dav!" Vaera corrected.
"I wasnt scared at all." Ron informed her and Davina gave him a pointed look. "I wasnt." He murmured.
"It was so scary Dav, Hermione thinks it was guarding something." Vaera went on.
"A guard dog." Aemond remarked.
"Yeah, something like that." Vaera agreed.
"I wonder what it was guarding, can you find the door again?" Davina questioned.
"NO! YOu are not going in there!" vaera corrected. "Harry talk some sense into her." Vaera requested turning around to where Harry and Ron were sitting. The Gryffindor table. Vaera however sat with her family at the slytherin table most mornings. "Davina!" Vaera declared when she got up.
"I have Quidditch 101 this morning with the captain, Katie this morning." Davina assured. "She is giving me the run down. I'm not looking for three headed dogs yet."
"Can I come?" Aemond questioned. "I think I might want to try out next year."
"More the merrier." Davina agreed linking arms with him.
"Ms Targaryen, welcome to hell." Katie declared when they got to the pitch. "You are a great flyer, but I need you to have a better aim."
"I will exceed your expectations." Davina assured.
"You brought a fan boy?" Katie questioned.
"This is my cousin, Aemond, he might want to try out next year." Davina corrected.
"Either of you ever played Quidditch?" Katie questioned.
"We dont have cars or television where we are from." Davina corrected. "What do you think?"
"Right," Katie agreed. "Well Quidditch is easy enough to understand. Each time has seven players, 3 chasers, 2 beaters, 1 keeper and a seeker. There are three kinds of balls." Katie remarked and picked up a red ball, "This one's called the Quaffle. Now, the chasers handle the Quaffle and try to put it through one of those three hoops." she Pointed to the hoops in the Quidditch pitch in the distance. "The keeper, defends the hoops." she threw the ball to Davina. "With me so far?" Davina threw it back.
"I think so. What are those?" Davina pointed to two squirming chained down balls.
"You better take this." Katie remarked and handed Davina a small bat. Katie bends down and releases one ball. With an angry growl, it flies off into the air. The three of them watched it soar. "Careful now, it's comin' back." The ball comes whizzing down, and Davina smirked as she cracks at it with the bat. The ball soars off through a statue, surprisingly without damaging it. Katie looks up impressed. "Damn girl, if Mattheo wasnt a beater you would be a beater with me." Kaite declared.
" Uh-oh. Dav, its coming back," Aemond corrected. The ball zooms down, and Katie grabbed it, wriggling to get it back in the box. Katie succeeds securing it back down but looked to Davina out of breath.
"What is that?"
"Bludger. Nasty little buggers." Katie remarked. "but damn good fun if you whack someone with it. I hit oliver wood his first year, he's a gryffindor and knocked him out cold for a whole week."
"Cool." Davina agreed. Aemond shook his head.
"If you are a flyer, you seem like one not to like violence." Katie remarked nodding to Aemond. "Maybe a seeker."
"Whats a seeker?" Davina questioned as Aemond stepped forward.
"The only thing I want my seekers to worry about is this... the Golden Snitch." Katie handed Davina a walnut sized golden ball. She passed it to Aemond.
"I like this ball." Davina remarked. "Like a miniature dragon egg."
"Ah, you like it now. Just wait. It's wicked fast and damn near impossible to see."
"What do seekers do with it?" Aemond questioned.
"They catch it... before the other team's seeker. We catch this, the game is over. We catch this, and we win."
"150 points Vaera!" Davina exclaimed. "If we dont catch it, it doesnt matter how many points I get, its an automatic loss!" Davina was going to be a chaser, a scorer. She was going to get all the points in the hoops. While dodging the attack balls trying to throw her off her broom.
"Sounds like a hard game." Vaera admitted.
"It's so stupid, why? What if you can never find the snitch, are we just flying forever?" Davina questioned.
"The snitch always makes an appearance." Mattheo corrected. "Anit that right Stark?" Mattheo called as they passed.
"Aye, the snitch always makes an appearance." Cregan assured.
"You are a seeker?" Davina questioned.
"Aye, can't wait to go up against you Targaryen." Cregan agreed.
"Helaena, are you going to be rooting for Slytherin?" Davina questioned. "I'm on the quidditch team."
"No, I'm sorry." Helaena corrected. "I make it a priority of mine to root against Aegon's house."
"Sure, sure, understandable." Davina agreed.
"But Aemond if you are on the team next year, I will root for you... In secret." Helaena added.
"In secret." Vaera whispered.
"Thanks Hela." Aemond agreed.
"You are going to regret not rooting for Slytherin this year, Helaena." Davina declared. "Because we are going to win."
"I thought you just said it was stupid." Vaera laughed out.
"The snitch is stupid. but the game it fun, I have practice tomorrow!"
