Rui had been coming to this park almost everyday since summer started. Today was just like the last several times. As usual, he would find an empty bench to sit , and as usual, he would open his tote bag and bring out one of his books to read.

Today, however, it wasn't the same.

Instead of a quiet and peaceful day, he was met with a loud one.

"HELP! HELP ME DOWN" A girl called from the top of a tree. Rui had been watching this girl for the pass twenty minutes. He had noticed her presence almost instantly. After all..it's not every day a girl attempts parkour on playground equipment, and climes a tree.
Rui sighed as he closed his book and placed it back into his bag. He walked over to the tree the girl was stuck on. Noticing him rather quickly the girl sighed. "Thank god! Are you here to help me down from here? I think if you just lift your arms I could-"

"Who said I was going to help you?" Rui cut her off. "I'm here to tell you to shut up. I'm trying to read."

The girl opened her mouth to respond but before she could Rui cut her off again.
"Seriously, you're giving me a headache with all this yelling. Just stop already." Rui slumped down under the tree and brought out the book to continue reading.
"HUHHHHH? SO YOUR JUST GOING TO SIT THERE? IF YOU WON'T HELP ME CALL SOMEONE WHO WILL!" The girl yelled, clearly frustrated.

Rui looked at her through the corner of his eye. He then went back to reading his book.

"YOUR IGNORING ME ARNT YOU! FINE! SUIT YOURSELF. I'M GETTING DOWN ON MY OWN! ONE. TWO. THREE" The girl yelled out the countdown before finally jumping down from the tree. Rui looked up only to see the girl falling right on top of him. The two crashed onto the ground, with the girl landing on top of him.

"Ooww.." Rui mumbled. The girl seemed to be just fine though. She got up off of him. Rui sat up slowly and brushed himself off. He looked over to the girl and yelled "GOSH! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
She had her hands on her hips, a smug look on her face. She then tilted her head to the side. Her hair swished slightly and Rui could now get a full look at her face. "What is wrong with YOU! Who ignores the damsel in distress!"
Rui scoffed, rolling his eyes "What damsel climbs trees?" He replied sarcastically.
The girl stuck her tongue out and crossed her arms.Rui sighed and picked up his tote bad as he stood up. "I don't feel like reading here anymore." Before the girl could reply with an equally sarcastic comment, Rui had already walked away to a nearby bench. The girl huffed and crossed her arms.

'What is she even doing...' Rui thought. After the whole tree ordeal, Rui was able to put in a chapter or two of his book. Unfortunately he was now me with another disturbance.

'Why the heck is she kicking the vending machine...'
Book in hand, he walked up to the girl as he spoke "Damage of property can be brought to the civil court with a fine of 100 dollars, you know". The girl turned her head, once she saw who was speaking she just rolled her eyes. She continued kicking as she replied "It's not damage of property! This thing stole my 10 bucks!"
Rui raised his eyebrows at the girl. This was a first for him. Most people he ran into in the park were fairly well-mannered. After all this girl did try to climb a tree. He placed a hand on his forehead and groaned. He really didn't want to deal with this right now.
Rui audibly groaned as he pulled a five dollar bill from his  pocket. "What do you want?" He asked. The girl pointed at a few snacks on the vending machine. Rui fed the 5 dollar bill to the machine, thankfully, this time they got their snacks.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" The girl exclaimed as she grabbed the snacks from the hatch under the vending machine. Rui shrugged and nodded as he began to walk back to his bench. "WAIT!..So umm..I have a lot of snacks now.. we could share!" The girl said as she walked towards Rui, arms full of snacks.Rui shook his head. He waved his hands as he replied, "Look, it's really not a big deal okay, you don't need to thank me or anything."

"I insist!" The girl said, as she continued to follow him until they reached the bench! "I'm Y/N by the way. Sorry for landing on you" She said as she sat next to him. Rui looked at her for a minute. She was smiling at him and waving the bag of chips around. He sighed and gave in.

"I'm Rui"
