______________________________________________________ "Y/N, I'm off to work! Put your shoes on."
The young girls ears perked after hearing her name. She walked up to the door of her small home where the older woman who called her was standing. Tilting her head, Y/N asked "Are you taking me to auntie Kamado's place, mama?" Her mother chuckled, ruffling her hair and crouching down to her eye-level. She began to slip on a pair of Velcro sneakers onto Y/N's feet as she spoke "No, not today". She finished strapping the last shoe and continued "We're going to a park near the place I work" Y/N lit up. She loved parks. She loved the trees and the birds and the grass and the ducks.
"Really mama? Promise?" Y/N beamed. Her mother giggled and gave a small nod, standing up.
The two of them made their way out of their house, making sure to lock the door. Y/N took her mother's hand as they made their way down the road to the park. ______________...
The park was one of those fancy parks in the richer neighbourhoods'. There were swings and a large playground along with a lake. It even had some staff who's job was to maintain its flowers and feed the lakes fishes. It was a peaceful Summer morning, the sun still hadn't risen high enough to shine on the trees that surrounded the park. The cool breeze made Y/N shiver slightly, but her mother quickly draped her cardigan over her to keep her warm. "Now Y/N, before I leave you here there are some rules we need to go over." Y/N listened with all her attention, as she usually did with her mother. Her mother took out a list of rules that Y/N had seen numerous times before and began to read them aloud. Rule #1: Don't go off on your own until I'm back.
Rule #2: Stay within sight of the park staff at all times.
Rule #3: Stranger Danger
"Yes, mama I know!" Y/N exclaimed with excitement. She looked up at her mother and beamed.
The young girl had been to this park many times, and she knew the rules like the back of her hand. Her mother smiled and leaned down, placing her hand on her cheek. Y/N had always been mature for her age. On top of that she was branded a prodigy by most of her peers. Sometimes her mother worried about her growing up too quickly. Sighing she said " I'll try to be back here in an hour or two, ok? Here's around 10 dollars, buy a snack from the vending machines if you get hungry" Y/N nodded and her mother gave her cheek a quick peck before standing up and making her way towards the parks swings
Y/N waved as her mother turned to walk off and her mother waved back with a smile. She felt the excitement bubbling up in her chest and she began to run in the direction of the playground. Y/N was usually the only kid at the park at this time of day. What she didn't know is that there was a boy with white hair and a black tote bag slung over his shoulders making his way through the park.
Park has now stoped playing
