Chapter 4: Ice Cream And Serious Talks

willy's chilly Ice cream parlor, south park's best and most expensive ice cream shop in town

well, maybe not to other people but to kenny it sure was, the cheapest option on their menu ranged from 3-8 dollars depending on how many scoops and toppings you wanted, but despite the expensive menu kenny always made it a point to visit leo during his break shifts whenever he got the chance, leo had a special free two scoop ice cream as a bonus for working at the shop, he would use half of his special bonus to hook kenny up with some free ice cream 

the doorbell rang as they entered the shop, the smell of sweets and sugar roamed in kenny's nose and he could tell that the addicting scent at attached karen from the way she was bouncing in leo's arms 

mr sullivan welcomed them with a warm smile and wave, from what leo had described to him, he was a sweet old man who never was up his employee's asses, he never gave leo a hard time for never being in proper uniform(he never wore the hat and always wore his black sweater over his work attire)

"oh why hello there leo, it's a pleasure to see you"

"hey mr Sullivan"

"oh is this your little sister?, karen was it?"

she nodded, hiding herself in leo's hold

"u-um hello"

the man smiled and shook her little hand

"it's a pleasure to meet you, please pick whatever you want"

leo got down on his knee and pointed out all the flavours to karen through the glass dome

"alright, pick out whatever you want"

her whole face lit up with excitement, it made leo happy

"really?!, anything I want?!"

"yeah, I'm paying whatever you want I'll get it for you"

It was extremely rare for karen to ever be able to pick out whatever she wanted, she normally had to make do with what they had but today she had the opportunity to be careless

she chose two to get a double scooping of cookies and cream with almost every single topping they had in the store, leo set her down to let her sprinkle in as many toppings as she wanted

"hey ken, get something too"

"you sure?, i know your situation"

leo's family was considered to be upper-middle-class in south park, while they weren't millionaires like the blacc's they were well-off

in retaliation to leo's rebellion, they decided to stop financially supporting him and often time refused him basic needs; meals and such, it was cruel but didn't come as a surprise to him, they expected him to cave and finally give in to their demands but leo instead took another approach to his dilemma 

if they refused to provide for him then he would do it himself, he applied to and now worked at both willy's chilli's and city wok; as for the food issue he picked up a few things from youtube video's and recipe's he would find in books or online

strangely he was almost thankful that his parents stopped supporting him, working and feeding himself gave him more independence and less levenger for his parents, their hopes of trying to get their son back under their control only seemed to greater the rebellion inside of him
