I immediately opened my eyes.
Slowly, lumayo si Adrien. His eyes were still closed. And when opened them and I saw his brown eyes again, he looked nervous at my reaction.
I took a deep breath.
T-that was... that was my first kiss!
Does that count? I'll forget about this, right?
What the heck.
"B-bakit mo ginawa yun?" Alanganing tanong ko.
"I-It's an American thing? Or a French thing?" Kabado niyang sabi. "I... I'm sorry. I mean, I'm not sorry I kissed you. I'm sorry for kissing you without your permission. But I'm not sorry for what happened and... and I should probably shut up now."
"I... I think, I think dapat na tayong bumalik sa ospital?" I said and I started to walk away.
"No! Wait, wait." Humarang si Adrien sa harap ko at pinigilan niya ko. "Don't. Please? Hindi pa natatapos yung araw na 'to. May isang lugar pa tayong dapat puntahan. I'm sorry, okay? Hindi ko na uulitin. Hindi ko alam kung anong sumapi sa'kin at ginawa ko yun kanina. Maybe..." He looked away, mukha siyang nahihiya. "Maybe I did it because you looked so beautiful a while ago?"
For a few minutes, nagtitigan lang kaming dalawa. He's probably trying to figure out what I'm thinking and I'm weighing my options.
But I don't want this day to end yet.
Dahan-dahan akong tumango at unti-unting ngumiti si Adrien. "Anong lugar yung sinasabi mo?"
He grinned, "Ano pa ba? La Tour Eiffel."
"Eiffel Tower, huh?"
"Yeah, dun ka papunta nung maaksidente tayo, di ba? Hindi pwedeng makaalis ka ng Paris nang hindi mo yun napupuntahan."
"Okay."
Ngumiti si Adrien and he led me back to the Seine River. We rode a boat cruise dahil medyo malayo dito yung Eiffel Tower. Dumiretso siya sa deck at humiga doon. I sat down beside him.
"Anong favorite book mo?" Biglang tanong ni Adrien.
"Random question but... siguro Anne of Green Gables ni Lucy Montgomery? Or A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I can't choose. I loved both of those as a kid, isa yun sa mga una kong nabasa at natapos na libro at nagsimula ng hilig ko sa pagbabasa."
"A Little Princess? Yung kay Sarah?"
