It's the day. Me and Cécile have spent our afternoon getting ready for the party as best as we can.
We've spent the day at my house just catching up and laughing about random shit we see online. She's finishing up my eyeliner as I scroll through my messages. I have a few people left on delivered, since today has been a busy day. I open up a chat, and Simone is telling me to have fun. I take a selfie with Cécile to send to my cousin, hoping she'll like it.
"So... What's the deal with you and Aaron now, huh?" I ask her slyly.
"Oh, I don't know, uh..."
"Have you kissed? Have you-"
She laughs. "Yes, we've kissed. We made out in his fucking room yesterday."
I gasp and turn around, knocking my glass of water over. "What?!" I shout excitedly.
"I was planning on telling you later, I swear!"
"This is so amazing! Oh my god girl, you did it!"
Cécile chuckles, before leaning back to look at my eyeshadow. "I'm not the only one." That comment leaves me blushing, knowing exactly what she's talking about.
Me and Cécile finish up after a few hours and catch a bus to Odette's house, nearly missing our stop. It's raining tonight, so it isn't quite party-like weather.
"Ready for the best night of the year?" Cécile asks me with a huge smile on her face.
"More than ready." I grin back.
We walk into the party and are met with smiles and greetings from our friends and people at school.
Everybody looks so good, and it's not even a huge event. Just... The most awaited party of the school year.
I think I've grown very fond of everyone this past year, and they have of me too. I'm not exactly the most socially advantaged person, as I'm often shy and a little bit insecure about what I say, but it's safe to say I have made a good reputation for myself here.
I say hello to everyone, two kisses, two kisses, a hug, handshake, two kisses... I turn around to face Hugo. He looks amazing in a suit, I feel as if I may melt into a puddle right now on the floor. His hair is messy yet perfectly styled, he's wearing a couple of rings and the chain necklace he always has on him. His suit jacket is tossed over his shoulder, and that makes him look so fucking g-
"Sara?" He asks.
Crap! Have I been staring? Hugo definitely has noticed. I mutter a quick hi before scrambling off to talk to Cécile. "Céci, help me, oh my god I'm so embarrassed."
She laughs. "No shit, you were practically drooling, girl! It's okay, just go talk to him! This is your big chance!" She elbows me.
"That was so embarrassing! I'm definitely not talking to him after that." I whisper-shout, laughing it off. What's done is done and there's no returning.
In order to forget about it, me and Cécile dance the night away along with our other friends, laughing and screaming the lyrics to our favorite songs. Every time I see Hugo through the crowd I turn away before we make eye contact. I would pretend like I was talking to someone else. I'm still too embarrassed to face him after drooling over him at the entrance and still trying to cope with my feelings for him. I figure it would be best to ignore him tonight. Plus he looks way too good in that suit.
