"-arty."
"Stop it!"
"No way. I'm doing this to the day I die."
"Then that day is today!"
Tartarus and Percy flashed into the room, still wrestling like we'd seen on the IM. Gods, those boys will never learn. Travis came to join Castor, muttering something that made them both crack up.
"Kids, settle down! You've got an audiance." Bianca chided. Percy turned to us, the look in his eyes that he'd forgotten something important. A minute later, his eyes lit up in rememberance.
"Meeting in an hour. Don't worry about getting there on time, Chaos certainly won't."
"Ow!" A chocolate bar smacked Percy on the forehead. "Yum!" The bar disappeared. "Aww." Everyone burst out laughing.
Percy pouted playfully, jutting his bottom lip out at us. Then everyone collapsed into a fit of giggles, Percy falling into Ella's arms, tears in his eyes from the laughter. It seemed he had mostly forgotten about the incident from earlier. Thank Chaos.
For what? He MMed me. I chuckled.
Nothing, I MMed back.
Everyone had fun for the next hour and a half. We spared, had a mini tournament, mercilessly beat Farsa at Monopoly, and binge watched Avatar. Then Percy cosplayed as Sokka for fifteen minutes, and Didymo actually fainted from laughing too hard. We had some of the most fun we'd ever had. Unfortunatly, it had to be cut short for the meeting. Surprizingly, Chaos was already there when we barged in. Normally, we'd have to wait another couple hours or so for him to come in, looking like he'd just woken up, ask what time it was, and apologize for being late. Then we would discuss all of the upcoming missions we had planned while he snoozed in his chair like the lazybutt he is.
Come on, seriously Metallo? I thought you liked me!
Sorry, Lord Chaos. It's the truth.
"Hmph." Chaos pouted, the rest of the team confused. Then Chaos took a breath, stood up, and regaly said, "Now, ladies and gentlemen, you've got a new mission. This one will be one of the hardest you've faced, and it will be a huge struggle. Though I'm confident in all of your individual abilities, you will need to rely on each other and fall back if it gets to be too much. You will need about half the team. Maybe more, if it gets to the point where-"
"Oh, come on, just tell us already! We're sick of the important 'this will be the hardest task yet' speeches." Percy complained loudly. The rest of the team laughed. However, Chaos did not. Wow, this must really be an important mission then.
"Fine then, if you're so eager to get going, how about you leave and start packing? Unless you don't want to, you think it'll be 'too easy?'" Percy up and left not even two minutes later.
Chaos continued, softer. "This mission is a larger war, on a planet many of you haven't been to in a long while. Some of you, never. This battle is on earth" Silence.
Then, "No."
"I'm sorry?"
"I said no. I'm not going back. You promised we wouldn't have to go back. You promised! You swore on your own name, Chaos. Why would you do that? Do you hate us that much?"
"No! I don't hate you, and I never will. That goes for all of you. And I know I swore on my name. It's irreversable. I'm sorry. You have to go. Otherwise, all of earth will be wiped out, and the planet will fade."
Mageia's face was emotionless. "Fine. I'll do it. But the only reason I'm doing this," he sucked in a breath, "isn't because of you. It isn't because of this team, the army, or those idiots back at Camp whatever-the-heck-their-new-name-is. I'm doing this for the mortals. All of the innocent mortals living harmless lives on the planet, oblivious because of the Mist. I'm doing this for them, and no one else." With that, Mageia left the room. No one said anything. Eventually, evryone followed, until the only ones left were Ella and I. I took one last look at Chaos' hurt expression before walking out the door, a million thoughts running through my head.
We were going back. I was thrilled, but at the same time, not. It was going to be hard. Hard for Diavolos, hard for Sothike, hard for Angelos and Asteria, and most of all, hard for Neos. Peristeri, Didymo, Farsa, Mageia and I would have no problem with it. Or so I thought, before now. No one expected Mageia to speak up like that. He never speaks, and is almost more mysterious than Percy.
We all worried for the others. None of us could tell how they were feeling, or if they were hurting, and we didn't want going back to earth to make that worse.
We were leaving in five minutes. I decided to prepare early, so I would have a little time to train before we left. I made sure I had my SN, a special Shield Necklace, which gave us portable armor. Mine had an actualy flaming blacksmith hammer for the pendant. After that, I teleported to my room to grab my mask and cloak. The masks didn't do much, just covered our eyes to prevent most of our facial features from being revealed, but the shadows from the hooded cloaks provided the most protection. My set was black, but covered in hot cinders. Everyone had a certain color, pattern, or texture that cordinated to them so others could recognize us. We didn't need them, as anyone in the army or on the team could see through the disguises.
After all that was done, I had about three minutes left. Just the right about of time to perfect this training routine I was working on. I teleported to the training room, and saw that the others had the same idea. I walked in, and no one even looked up. Everyone was practicing in silence. I started the routine.
Kick, switch, defend, slash, stab, repeat. All too soon, the three minutes were up. Everyone made their way to Chaos and Neos, who had his hood on and refused to acnowledge anyone. He must have been told where we were going. The portal was waiting. Chaos smiled apologeticly, and some gave him sour looks. His eyes were drowning in sadness, and at that moment, I felt a suffocating wave of pity for the creator of the universe. It was my turn to step into the portal next, and I was so nervous I could barely walk. I had no idea how much Camp had changed, or what I find when I got there. I took a breath and one last look at Chaos, giving him a sympathetic shrug, then stepped into the portal, and into the light with Olympus hidden on the other side.
A/N ~ DO NOT SKIP> Hey guys, I am so incredibly sorry for not updating in forever. I feel like I completely disappeared off the planet. Anyway, I hope you like the new chapter, and I am so sorry for not publishing it earlier. Blue cookies for forgivness?🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵
Okay, next topic. So, I'm thinking about publishing a prequel to this book all about Percy becoming the commander of the Chaos Army and rising through the ranks. Please comment letting me know if you would like or want something like that, or any suggestions for the story. Also, I will try to include any and all OC requests I get for that story. Last announcment, I'm going to publish a new story called Blessed By Fortuna. It's about a being blessed and created by certain primordials, who was summoned out of her hibernation(for lack of a better word) to help in an upcoming war. That's all, hope you enjoy the story!
