Natasha

I was polishing my widow's gauntlets when Wanda knocked on the door that's wide open. I turned to look at her and she was leaning by the door frame, her leg was folded perfectly against the back of the other one. Her arms crossed. She had a soft smile on her face and I noticed that she was out of her pajamas already. She was wearing black jeans, a loose V-neck shirt that's tied to her side to not make it look like it isn't her size.
"What's up?" I asked.
"I was thinking that we should leave."
"Is there something wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong. Yet. I don't want to bring harm to Clint's family so I think it's best for us to leave. We just needed a few days away and hidden from anyone who's hunting me down. I needed a plan and another place that won't bring danger to Laura and the kids because I know that's what Clint is most worried about." she replied.
I just stared at her in silence, trying to process what she said. Whatever she's going through seems more than just 'hearing voices'. I really have a strong gut feeling that this is bigger than her. We've spoken to Clint about the incident that happened yesterday while they were having their family time at the park and he seems concerned. Which I understand. I know how he can be very protective about his family. I'm just assuming that he's the same person as the Clint I met in my universe. I guess we're all the same, it's just the wars and fights we face are very different.
"Okay." I finally nodded. "So what's the plan?"
"I've spoken to Clint early this morning. Asking if he knows a place somewhere that's invisible to everyone who knows me. Or... you. He said that he has a place somewhere in Vermont. Close to a small town but still far from civilization, if you know what I mean. He's willing to give that to us so we can figure out whatever's happening to me." she replies, tossing a set of keys across the room.
"Alright. We're leaving today?" I asked as I caught the keys in the palm of my hands.
"More like, right now. Get packing. Also, Clint wants to talk to you." she instructs and walks away.
I stared back at the table. I literally only have weapons with me. The clothes I've been wearing are stuff that Laura lent me from her clothes that she no longer wears. I wasn't really planning on taking them with me because she mentioned the word 'borrow' when she handed them to me. I set my weapons on the foot of the bed before heading down to look for Clint. Wondering what he wants to talk about.
I spotted him by the barn, closing the hood of a pick-up truck that used to be parked inside a shed. It was evident that he hasn't used it in a long time.
"What's up? Wanda said you wanted to talk to me." I said when I got closer.
"Great. You're here. I'm giving my pick-up to the both of you. Wanda said that you guys need a ride too." he responds.
"We're driving? Aren't we in Iowa?"
"Apparently so. She said that she doesn't want to use much of her powers right now because of... you know." he trails off.
"Right. That's going to be like a 20-hour drive but nothing that gas station coffee and energy drinks can't fix, I guess." I chuckled.
"You sound so much like the Natasha I knew. That's weird and comforting at the same time." he laughs before pausing in silence. I noticed a hint of sadness and grief in his eyes, but it disappeared before I can even say anything. "Anyway! I got something for ya."
