Seven years later
Jane entered the house carrying two large bags of groceries.
"Mommy! Mommy!" shrieked an excited little girl with chestnut brown hair identical to her own. She ran to her mother and wrapped her tiny arms around Jane's leg. Jane dropped the grocery bags on the counter and patted her on the head.
"Hi, sweetheart."
"Me and daddy were watching the movie about you and him," she exclaimed.Jane quirked an eyebrow quizzically at her. The little girl sighed dramatically and explained, "Beauty and the Beast!"
Just then Blake walked into the kitchen watching the two of them in obvious amusement. Jane only shook her head in disapproval and told her daughter, "Go upstairs and tell your brothers to wash up for dinner."
The little girl quickly scampered off as Blake approached.
"Don't tell her things like that," Jane chided him as she began to put away the groceries.
"Come on, Jane. She's three." His eyes were alight with mischief and Jane allowed a smile. Blake put his hands on Jane's hips and pulled her toward him.
"Besides, it's not like it's that far from the truth," he said into her ear.
Jane shook her head, "I disagree, the beast turns into a prince at the end of that movie."
Blake chuckled softly, "Well, at least they got the 'happily ever after' part right."Jane's mouth turned up into a smile as his lips met hers.
