We appeared in front of my house.

"I have an Obscurer," said Faron, " It should bend light and sound around us so nobody notices me, but be quick."

He handed me the gas disk. This felt so wrong.

I quietly crept inside. I managed to make it upstairs without being noticed.

It had only been an hour or so, so my parents probably assumed I was still at the park.

Seeing my home was hard. I would miss it's blue foyer, our giant new couch, my room and all its flaws, and most importantly the people who lived in it.

I quickly shoved all the stuff I wanted into the backpack. I had to be careful because I could only fit so much.

I brought my favorite clothes, my phone, my Royal Winter Fair mug, a parrot statue from Mexico, my keeper books, and my squishmallow crab Xandra.

I looked around for anything else to bring. There was so much, and so little time.

I saw my Unstable Unicorns card game and shoved it in.

I zipped up my very full backpack and tried to sneak downstairs.

I managed to make it out the door and back to Faron.

"Did you use it?" he asked.

I shook my head and handed him back the disk.

"Let's get out of here."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skysoar reappeared in front of us.

"How'd it go?" asked Kai.

I shrugged. "Fine, I made it out without them noticing."

"Did you get the books?"

"Yeah," I replied. Kai was a Keeper fanatic like I was.

She nodded in appreciation.

"Ready to go light leaping with your boyfriend?" I whispered so Faron couldn't hear.

"Shut up," said Kai as she blushed. I had a feeling that I would have the greatest opportunities to tease her more and more. That made me feel a tinsy bit better.

Everyone else returned.

Leo looked like a mess. His eyes were puffy and red. His face was soaked with sweat and tears.

I pulled him aside.

"You good?" I asked.

His eyes shimmered with more tears, threatening to spill over.. "I didn't make it out of the house... I had to use the disk."

Oof. I could see the hurt in his eyes.

I gave him a big hug and whispered, "It'll be ok. I'm here."

He nodded and leaned into me. He was always a very sensitive person, like me.

I almost cried. Almost. It was very close, but I kept it together.

Everyone else appeared to be grief-stricken when they returned as well.

I decided to give everyone space, and I needed some space myself.

I entered Skysoar to be by myself, it's quiet halls giving me time to think.

I felt like I should be sad, but I wasn't crying. Sometimes when something bad happens, I get over it fast. Faster than I feel I should.

Skysoar was beautiful. I stood there for a long time before someone said something.

"Pretty great, isn't it?"

I turned around to see the adult Keefe. He looked as awesome as ever.

"Oh, um... Hi?" I said nervously, "Should I not be in here?"

"No, no," he said as he walked over to stand beside me, "It's fine. I was just wondering how you're doing. Leaving your family must be hard."

I sighed. He was probably one to understand, with his mom being evil and all.

"I feel like I should be more upset about it. But I'm not. Probably because I snuck in and out unnoticed. When are the Washers heading in?"

Washers were Telepaths who were trained to erase memories. They would prepare for my family to be relocated somewhere they wouldn't remember me.

"Right now." He replied.

We stood there in silence.

"How are my friends?" I said, "Upset?"

"Yeah," he said, "All of them except the tall girl."

"Kai," I replied, "that makes sense."

"DAD! I NEED YOU! LYLE'S BEING A JERK!" yelled a voice. Sounded like Faron.

"Gotta go," Keefe said to me and ran off.

I stood there for a while just letting my imagination run wild about why I was here. What happened to me? What was going to happen to me?

I couldn't believe I would just live here in the Lost Cities now. I would go to Foxfire, the noble school. I would have to learn what it's like to be an elf. My life was weird.

I don't know how long I stood there, but I was eventually approached by Sophie.

"We've made arrangements for you and your friends are staying." She said.

I didn't respond.

"Leo will go with Dex and Marella, Kai will go with Tam and Biana, Kayla will stay here at Skysoar, Mars will go with Kai to Tam and Biana's too, Grey will end up here at Skysoar as well, and you will be staying with Linh and Wylie," Sophie said.

I mulled over each match and everything checked out well.

"Do Linh and Wylie have kids?" I asked.

"Two." Sophie replied, "Marla, and Tenner."

"What are their abilities?" I asked.

"Marla is a Hydrokinetic, and Tenner is a Polyglot and a Flasher."

"Just like their parents," I whispered.

Sophie simply nodded.

"Their house is called Rivershine," she continued, "It isn't as big as Skysoar, but I hope it'll meet your expectations."

Knowing elves, it would first, not be small in any way, and second, it would surpass any expectations.

We stood there a moment longer in silence before Sophie asked,

"Ready to go?"

I shook my backpack in response and nodded.

Sophie smiled sadly and led me back to the rest of the group.

"So... we all know where we're going?" I asked.

Everyone solemnly nodded.

"What's going to happen to us?" asked Leo.

"I don't know." I said, "But whatever happens, we will always have each other."

"Thanks, Griff." Said Kai.

"Oh!" I said as I remembered something important, "Never mention meat here."

"Why?" asked Kayla.

"Because elves are vegetarians."

"Good to know."

I nodded and stood next to Sophie as we light leaped to my new home.

Another short chapter... I know what you're thinking, but it's harder to write books than you think.
