Louis did just like Niall told him to. He went to Liam's room and hid there so Harry wouldn't know where he went and in school he did everything he could to avoid the green eyed lad. He had plenty of questions but he decided he'll get the answers when the time came. Thankfully for Louis, this "Lewis" did show up during the last week of the assignment, gave him a nice treat at Louis' favourite restaurant as an apology and did the rest of the assignment too.
"I thought he wouldn't show up!" Louis said sighing in relief as he laid down on his bed.
"Good thing he did." Liam's voice came through the phone and Louis hummed.
"What do you think happened between Niall and Harry?" Louis asked.
"Maybe they fought?" Liam said.
"Would you do that if it was us?" Louis asked sitting up.
"Nah, I love you" Liam chuckled.
"Good lad." Louis smiled and laid back down again.
The both of them then started talking random stuff and soon Zayn had joined in on the conversation too. They soon forgot about all the shit that had happened recently, replacing all the bad memories with new happy ones they created and banter.
A few months had passed. Most of it had been uneventful except for that one huge fight between Niall and Harry that happened in the middle of the high school playground which eventually marked the end of their friendship. Niall had a few days later asked the boys if he could join them and they agreed. They were all great friends now, including Shawn and Lewis.
"Why'd ya ask Lou to stay away from Harry, Nialler? I thought he was genuinely interested in Louis!" Liam asked munching on a chicken nugget.
"He doesn't fall in love." Shawn replied.
"Yeah, he refuses to." Lewis added.
"What?" Liam asked tilting his head to the side like a confused puppy.
Niall sighed and nodded.
"Why?" Zayn asked, curious.
"It's a long story" Niall sighed.
"Shorten it then." Louis said and sipped on his chocolate milkshake.
"Alright. This happened when he was approximately 7. He used to be best friends with his neighbour. To be honest, they were more than friends. Harry was in love. Deeply in love that too. You can call his crush, his first love even. One day Harry's father got transferred to another place and so Harry had to leave his first love forever. But he wasn't one to give up. Before Harry and his family left, he and the neighbour promised each other that they would find each other again when they would grow up and 'till then they wouldn't date anyone. They would wait for the other. Even if it meant being single for whole life. I know he's a flirt. You could call him a playboy even, but he hasn't dated anyone his entire life cause he's still waiting for his childhood crush to return to him." Niall said.
The boys stayed silent for sometime before Liam spoke up.
"What's the point of breaking other's hearts?" Liam asked.
"I don't know. He's not the Harry I once knew is all I can say." Niall sighed.
"Niall, say" Zayn said making everyone turn to him.
"Ask away" Niall said.
"Did Harry's father get transferred to Manchester?" Zayn asked taking Niall by surprise.
"Yes. How do you know that?" Niall asked surprised.
Zayn and Louis shared a look while Liam looked at them confused.
"What is that I do not know here?" Liam asked confused.
"That boy is Harry, babe." Zayn answered.
Liam stayed silent frowning confused before it suddenly clicked to him what Zayn was speaking about.
"What a small world we live in!" Liam said.
"Um????" Niall asked looking for explanation.
"What else did Harry say about this childhood crush of his?" Liam asked.
"It was a- oh." Niall stopped midway, realising.
"Yup." Liam said, confirming.
"Shitshitshit!" Niall said abruptly standing up and dashing out the cafe.
"We should take a walk in the garden." Liam said turning to the glass walls and looking out at the flower garden. "It's really pretty." Liam added.
"Let's go. We'll see you boys later, bye!" Zayn said standing up and went out with Liam while pulling Louis along with him.
"Let's go to the cyber cafe" Lewis said standing up. Shawn nodded and the two left too.
