CHAPTER 1 – THE NEWS

THE LOUD music is making her deaf and the flashing lights are almost making her blind. Many people are rubbing themselves in the dance floor and everything is steamy. But none of them mattered cause she's stuck with her boss in the corner of the bar, drowning himself with a bottle of Jack Daniels.

They both just found out this morning that her boss, the owner of a multi-billion company, the DC Group of Companies, is unfortunately sterile.

SHE ACCOMPANIED Mateo to his monthly check-up with Dr. Gil regarding his bipolarism. He has been suffering from this mental problem since he was in highschool.

They were sitting in the visitors chair in Dr. Gil's office as he tells them the results of Mateo's tests.

"Mr. Dela Cruz, it seems like you have been managing your bipolarism well, because as you said, you rarely have your depressive episodes... But, there is something you needed to know about your blood test result."

"Your blood test showed that you have a case of sterility. You have an abnormal sperm function and it incapacitates you to conceive a child. I'm sorry Mateo."

That news made both of them dumbfounded, especially for her boss who needed someone who will continue his company.

When she realized that her boss is in state of shock, she can't help herself but ask.

"But...this is only temporary doctor, right?"

"Well, some cases are permanent while some cases are not... In the case of Mr. Dela Cruz, it could be permanent. But hey, miracles do happen you know. You could also a have second opinion from other doctors that specializes in sterility and infertility to make sure."

She wanted to ask D. Gil more but Mateo already stood up from his seat, with an angry expression on his face and walked out of the doctor's office with his fist clenching hard.

She thanked Dr. Gil and was ready to follow her boss when the doctor told her another thing.

"Ms. Gutierez, nothing is impossible in this world. Always believe that."

She just smiled at the doctor and run to catch up to his boss. She wanted to believe that too.

AND HERE she is, watching her boss finish his third bottle of Jack Daniels. She sighed as she stood up to go to her boss. She snatched the bottle from his hand.

"Hey!" He protested. But Mia wasn't threatened.

Her boss is definitely drunk.

She snaked her arm around his body and urged him to stand up. And since his boss can't stand on his own and the fact that he actually weighs a ton, due to his well-toned body...of course, she called a waiter to help her bring him to the VIP room of the bar.

When they entered the room, the waiter helped her carry and deposit him to the king size bed. She thanked the waiter and closed the door of the room and went back to where Mateo is.

She stared at the man who was sprawled all over the bed. He is still very handsome even in his sleep.

She sighed and went to the bathroom to grab a basin of water and a towel. She soaked the towel in the water and wiped Mateo's arms and face, to at least sooth him. Then he removed his shoes...She was almost tempted to remove his shirt to make him feel better. But her sanity won't be able to take it.
