Chapter 26 – THE SIBLINGS

MIA WATCHED the two peaceful little angels currently sleeping in the fancy crib brought by their Grand aunt Luciana and Grand Uncle Mathew.

She can't believe that she gave birth to these two little cuties.

When they arrived at the mansion of the Dela Cruz's, they were sent to a very grand and huge nursery room. Aunt Luciana has the room renovated and prepared during the months she stayed when she was pregnant. She refused at first of course; she couldn't let the kind woman do something like that for her. Aunt Luciana has already given her too much.

But as always, Aunt Luciana didn't listen to her and pleaded her to allow her to do this. And Mia let her. She can't say no to the kind lady's pleading eyes.

The room of the twins looked like a bed chamber fit for a prince, like the ones she had seen in the movies, with a canopy king sized bed at the center, although it wasn't needed yet.

The whole room is coloured in two, mint green and baby blue. The northern part of the room is painted mint green while the southern part is in baby blue.

When Aunt Luciana received the news that she had twins, she immediate contacted some professionals to redecorate the room which took only a few hours since Aunt Luciana was in a hurry.

The crib of the twins is located just beside the red canopy bed. Mia requested only one crib because she wanted her boys to sleep together.

A giant chandelier was placed in the centre of the ceiling that brings warm bright light into the room. There was also a walk in closet full of baby items which were personally chosen by Aunt Luciana. She didn't ask for the price tags anymore. When she learned the amount paid Aunt Luciana paid for the crib, she could barely stand on her feet.

She tried telling Aunt Luciana that the twins don't need elaborate and luxurious things, but as usual, Aunt Luciana wouldn't listen to her.

And now, the nursery room looked like a five-star hotel VIP room for royalties.

She sighed as she propped her arms on the railings of the crib of the twins.

'My babies are so adorable.' She can't help but feel proud.

It's been a month since she gave birth to them and the DNA test results are supposed to come today. But she didn't add that to her worries. In the past month, all she did and thought about is taking care of her beloved twins.

"You better be careful not to make them up." Mateo suddenly said to her and leaned on the crib beside her.

"Hi..." She greeted him with a smile.

"Hi..." He replied with a smile as well.

Then silence enveloped them. But it's not the awkward silence that she had experienced before with Mateo. This time, it is just a simple peace of watching the babies in their slumber.

She thought that things would get awkward after her rejection to Mateo's marriage proposal. But thankfully, it didn't.

Although, she can't still get over the fact that Mateo confessed to her, in which she had a hard time believing even until today.

And in the past month, besides taking care of the twins, she also has been dealing with Mateo's everyday courtship.

She would receive a bouquet of flowers in a certain day, then chocolates on the next. He would sometimes invite her in the movies which she enjoyed herself.

Mateo was super sweet and everything felt like déjà vu because he was also like that... before she told him she was pregnant. Sweet and kind. And the reason why she can't accept his proposal is because she is afraid that something will change his mind again.
