Chapter 18: Truths

Wet.

That's how one would describe Y/n's body at the very moment. Asta, Yuno, Mimosa, and Y/n were wet after falling through the Eye of the Midnight Sun Hideout. Asta, Yuno and Mimosa had to work together to get Y/n's unconscious body out of the lake that they landed into. 

Why was Y/n unconscious, well...

When Licht unleashed that high concentrated ray of magic, Asta and Yuno were pushed back into the hideout. Once Y/n saw them there, he switched places with the both of them and held it back for as long as he could, to give the other Magic Knights that weren't resurrected time to run. As a result, he was knocked unconscious as he was pushed through the remaining floors and into the lake. Soon after Y/n landed in the lake, Yuno found him and started pulling him out.

There, all caught up.

As Y/n lay on the ground, everyone was relieved to see that he was breathing, but they worried for him still, wondering when he would wake up. Mimosa was the most worried at the moment, and somehow found Y/n's Grimoire in the lake, completely dry thanks to the Mana that lies within it.

"We survived that, but what about them? How are we going to catch them," Asta asked.

A rustling came from the bushes within the forest, catching everyone's attention.

Everyone looked and saw Zora appearing from the treeline, "Zora!"

He nodded, and gestured to them, "This way, there's another captain here."

Yuno picked up Y/n with Wind Magic, and carried him to follow Zora. Once they stopped, everyone sat down and Asta realized how much pain he was in. He started yelling about his body hurting everywhere, and got into a slight argument with Sylph.

"I'm surprised to see that you kept your promise, and came back alive," Zora said to Asta, "And Y/n made sure he protected Mimosa, I can respect him for that. Hell, you two are the luckiest damn half-pint and person I know."

"How's the Captain- AAAAUUUGHHUHUHUH," Asta yelled, in too much pain to be talking.

"She's unconscious but she'll pull through," Zora pointed to Mereoleona sitting against a tree and slightly bleeding from the head.

"That's good news at least," Asta said softly, before more pain set in.

"She won't wake up any time soon though," Zora explained, "I'd wake her but I don't have a death wish."

"You made it," a soft voice called out, catching their attention, "This is wonderful."

It was En Ringarde, Takeo Makarov, and Nozel Silva.

"What happened to Y/n there," Takeo hissed, pointing at said person.

Yuno summarized it, "You know that beam of magic that tore through the place, Y/n switched places with us and held it back to buy time for everyone to escape. This is how he ended up and in the lake."

Takeo hissed as he crouched down, "Well, he is still quite the Magic Knight for holding it back for as long as he did. He's just unconscious like Mereoleona?"

"It seems that way," Nozel stepped up.

En recalled the events that took place, "It seems that two of our comrades have changed sides. We were able to escape using my Mushroom Smokescreen and Captain Nozel's mobility."

Asta was taken back at who had switched sides, "Really? Them too? OW OW OW OW OW!"

Nozel was in his own thoughts, Asta and Y/n of the Black Bulls. Asta survived a battle terrible enough to put Mereoleona in that condition. Y/n is in the same condition as her, but it was thanks to him that we had more time to escape. What's more confusing is that he is also glowing like our turned comrades, but it's different, why?
