Chapter 14: The Royal Knights Entrance Exam

Y/n was in the Royal Capital, surrounded by other Magic Knights. They were waiting for the Royal Knight Exam to start, so they could be a part of the counterattack against the Eye of the Midnight Sun. Y/n was seen reading his poetry book, with Asta being surprised about how many Magic Knights had shown up. There were also quite the number of famous Magic Knights present as well.

Y/n's concentration was broken by a familiar voice he enjoyed hearing, "Y/n, it's so good to see you here!"

"Hey Mimosa," Y/n greeted, closing his book, "I see you are also trying out for this exam."

"I hope to pass, as well as see you pass as well," she shyly says.

"I could just use Time Magic to see if we do," Y/n jokingly offers whilst opening his Grimoire to the spell, "Origin Time Ma—"

"NONONO please don't do that," Mimosa says waving her hands towards Y/n, "I don't wanna know if we do or not!"

Y/n physically closed his Grimoire with a chuckle, "I'm just kidding, I wouldn't really do that. Although I have no idea why I have that spell, or when it got there."

The Eye spoke in his mind, "I put it there, but it only works for a few seconds before it actually happens and lasts for an hour."

Y/n spoke back into his mind, Good to know.

Noelle soon joined the duo, "I do suppose Y/n has a good chance about getting into the Royal Knights. He can counter everyone's Magic attribute, and you, Mimosa, also have a good chance to join the Royal Knights."

"Don't sell yourself short Noelle," Y/n turns to her, "You have a good chance to be in the Royal Knights."

"A-Are you sure about that," Noelle asked.

Y/n opened his Grimoire again with a smile, "Wanna find out?"

Noelle shook her head, "NO don't tell me!"

"I wasn't going to anyways," Y/n jokes with a chuckle, "Twice in one day. Nice."

"I can see someone who won't last long in this exam," a slithering voice called out towards the trio.

Y/n, Mimosa, and Noelle looked and saw Solid Silva, Noelle's older brother. He held a smug look on his face as he stared right at Noelle.

"You should just quit now before you embarrass yourself," Solid hissed at Noelle, "You don't have a chance in joining the Royal Knights."

Y/n shook his head with a smirk as Noelle looked at Solid with defiance, "You can say all that you want about me, but I'm no longer the weak little girl you bullied. I will show you just how strong I've become in this exam."

"There you go Noelle," Y/n praised her, "She's made leaps and bounds within a year, much more than you've done since you've been gifted with being born in the Silvas."

"So what, she still can't control her magic," Solid argued back.

Noelle was about to turn away, but stopped and looked back at him, "It's not about if I can control it, it's about if I want to protect this kingdom till my last breath. I will prove it by making it into the Royal Knights."

Y/n wrapped an arm around Noelle's shoulders and smiled, "There you go Noelle, come on, let's get away from this snake. Are you coming too, Mimosa?"

Mimosa nodded, with a big smile on her face. They left Solid where he was standing, who was fuming and surprised with Noelle standing up to him now.

He was joined by Nebra, "Well that was pathetic."

"No matter, we will show them that Noelle can't be in the Royal Knights," Solid turned to his sister, "That will show her."
