Chapter 23: Aftermath and Problems

With the looming threat of the two devils that had attacked the Clover Kingdom now gone, there was time for respite, but it wouldn't last long. Y/n knew this, yet he wasn't going to let any time go to waste with needing to rest and recover, with Mimosa's help in fully healing him, Noelle staying close to make sure he wasn't over exerting himself, and Vanessa who could bring him food and drinks, thankfully not alcohol. Once he was fully recovered, he helped other Magic Knights recover and get them to start contributing to rebuilding the Capital.

Meanwhile, Secre, the newest member of the Black Bulls, was in Hage, looking at where the statue of Lumiere used to be before she brought him back. She didn't know what would have happened if she didn't bring him back, but there is only so much that he could have done in that body.

Asta and Yuno were both healing as well, and with both Mimosa's and Y/n's help, they were able to get back to work almost immediately. Yet there was something else that needed their attention, especially Asta, Y/n, and Secre.

In the Royal Capital where the Magic Knights headquarters was, Y/n, Asta, Secre, and Mimosa were all brought in to see someone, yet they had no idea as to who it was. Once they entered an office, they were surprised to see Yami, as well as a young boy, perhaps around Luck's age, standing behind a desk with Yami next to him.

"Hey Captain, do you mind explaining what's going on here," Y/n asked, crossing his arms underneath his cloak, "Cause as far as I'm certain, there is something fishy going on if we were summoned here. Also, what's with the kid?"

"I have to agree with Y/n," Noelle nodded, yet seemed a little more timid with how she had the same idea.

Y/n then looked with his silver eye, seeing what looked to be a clock above the boy's head, and familiar magic that was coursing through his body, "Don't tell me..."

Satanael then spoke in Y/n's mind, "It seems that this has been more surprising than we thought."

"Now, I want to thank you all for your hard work," the boy announced, "The battle is over and we can all live happily ever after again. At least, that's what I'd like to say. But unfortunately we're currently faced with three problems, four if the rumors about Y/n are true."

"Wait, what rumors? How do we know we can trust you?" Y/n asked, pointing to the boy, "You may be wearing Julius' robes as the Wizard King, but you certainly couldn't be him. At least, I'm not one hundred percent convinced you're him."

"Hang on, I know that Ki," Asta said, now confirming more of Y/n's suspicions, "I recognize him."

"Let me explain the problems first," the boy said, holding up three fingers and wiggling his pinky to emphasize the possibility of a fourth problem, "First, the Wizard King is nowhere to be found."

"You're the Wizard King genius, or did you forget already," Yami revealed, with Y/n sighing and nodding his head.

"I thought as much," Satanael hummed in Y/n's head, "With the Wizard King's Time Magic, perhaps it was able to rewind him to a certain point, if he was injured or fatally wounded. It must've rewinded him too far if he ended up like this."

Meanwhile, everyone else was surprised to learn this, with Secre being the only one who was silently surprised.

"I knew it," Asta yelled out, before seeing Y/n wasn't that surprised, "But wait, why aren't you surprised about this."

Y/n then pointed to his silver eye, "Did you forget that my eye's special mutation can pierce through the veil that hides the flow of mana whenever I want? I saw Time Magic within him and there's only one person I know with Time Magic, and that's Julius."
