Hey guys, I'm back. Sorry about being gone. Here's a new chapter.

Kyle POV
I walked into the club with Alex at my side and John and his girl behind me. Alex immediately went to the bar. She had put her hair into two braids and she was actually looking really cute. I was watching her walk to the bar and something caught my eye: there was a drawing on the back of her neck. A tattoo. She had a tattoo and this is the first time in the few days I've known her that I've actually seen it. However, I couldn't tell what the tattoo was.

I watched as she talked flirtatiously to the bartender and as he smiled and laughed back at something she had said. It kind of bothered me that she was doing this but I knew it shouldn't. It's not like we were in an actual relationship or anything. She had the right to be flirty. I was all fine and calm until the bartender reached for a loose strand of her hair and tucked it behind her ear. I almost lost it. Why was I getting worked up about something like this? She's not my girlfriend. But, still, I watched in anger as she continued like I wasn't even there.

"Hey, Kyle, you okay? You're kind of turning red..." I turned to see John's girl, Katelyn, next to me.
"I'm fine, don't worry about it. Where's John?" I asked as I looked back at the stupid fucking bartender.

"He went to the restroom. Now, Kyle, I know something's up. So what's wrong?" She asked as she turned me to look at her.

"Nothing is wrong," I said as I turned back to Alex. Almost immediately, I knew I had made a mistake as Katelyn noticed where I was staring and chuckled. I turned back to her. "What are you laughing at?"

"Oh, nothing. Just how you obviously like her even though you're forcing her to marry you because it was your fathers last wish." She replied like there was nothing wrong with it.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"It's obvious. The way you look at her. The way you let her do whatever she wants without a second thought. The way you keep glaring at the bartender for flirting with her. You obviously like her." She explained as she watched Alex and the bartender.

"How do you know I let her do whatever she wants? This is the first time you've met her."

"John tells me stories about you and her."

"I have no idea what you're talking about." I said nonchalantly.

"Of course you don't. Because you're oblivious and you're denying ever liking her."

"Hey what're you guys going off about?" John asked as he approached us. I was about to answer when Katelyn cut me off.

"Oh just how Kyle here has a little crush on Alex."

"I do not!" John laughed at my sudden outburst.

"You obviously do if you're denying it that quickly, man." I looked back to the bar to see Alex wasn't there. Before panicking, I looked around the rest of the club to spot her on top of a table dancing her heart out with some other chick. They were laughing together and dancing to the beat as the bass shook the building. I watched as she smiled a mouthful of perfect white teeth and pretty pink lips. I watched as she reached down to the table and picked up a whole bottle of vodka and took a swig. She raised it above her head and laughed. Sighing to myself, I realized just how long of a night this could be.

I was right on how long and frustrating the night was. It had been filled with Alex dancing and drinking and flirting as I watched from afar. Alex had even punched another girl in the face. She was almost arrested but when the sheriff saw her, he told his deputes to release her. She then continued to party like nothing had happened. I don't understand how she was so carefree. In the world she and I live in, with gangs and guns and death and drugs, I didn't know how she could be so loose and happy. She made her way over to our table as she laughed.
