The song is the one Alex is dancing to in this chapter. The photo is the dress Alex wears.
Kyle's POV
Alex still hasn't talked to me about her break down the day that Ethan decided to 'visit' us, she actually hasn't talked to me much at all. But I'm still extremely curious as to what had happened between them. All I knew was that whatever had happened wasn't good, otherwise, she would't have said what she did and she wouldn't have started crying.
I was currently walking through the house, looking for Alex, when I heard music coming from the basement. The studio. She and I had come to an agreement that she could use the dance studio because she was going to be going to an arts school for her dancing and she need somewhere to practice. And because I was being a dick when I almost killed her for cleaning it up...but that's not important right now.
I walked down the stairs to try and take a peak inside. The music got louder as I got closer and eventually I was able to see her dancing in front of the mirror wall. I almost instantly became entranced. It was different than what she usually danced. Usually she did a hip hop style, but this one was slow and was more graceful. I slightly remember her telling me that that was her first assignment. It was an assignment given before she even started at the school. There was apparently one given to every new-coming-student and all the assignments given were different based on the dancer. They gave out assignments to test how the students did with different dances than the ones they normally did.
Alex was rehearsing hers a lot lately, ever since Ethan visited us. She was doing great though. Although, I do believe she could use some help with the choreography. Either she changes it, or she gets a partner to do a duet with. There are parts where she needs someone to help keep her balanced. I only knew this because dance was all I talked about with my sister, it was all she ever wanted to talk about. I had even helped her on some of her duets.
The music came to an end and I couldn't help myself from applauding. She jumped when she heard me and I stopped immediately when she looked at me with wide eyes.
"Sorry, I couldn't help myself. You're really good."
"Thanks..." She mumbled to me as she looked at me through her bangs. She had recently gone to get a trim and came back home with side bangs and they looked really cute on her. The way she answered me though wasn't like her normal self.
"Are you alright?" I asked as I made my way over to her. She didn't answer, but instead held her head high as she looked away from me. "Alex..."
"What?" She whipped her head to face me, causing her hair to fly.
"Why won't you talk to me?" I stopped as I reached her, looking down into her blue eyes.
"Because you don't need to be concerned with my past. That's why." She stated in a monotone voice as she walked away to a bag of stuff she had brought in.
"Well, if you're not gonna tell me, then let me tell you something," She hummed as she grabbed her bag and headed to the door, "The party that was on Monday after you start school, it got moved to tonight, and Ethan might be there. So, I'd like you to tell me what's going on so I know that if anything happens tonight then I can keep you from breaking down in public." I said with a strong voice.
She froze where she was and I could see her hesitating to move. Her fists clenched at her sides as she straightened her back. I could see her taking deep breaths before she answered, "I'll go get ready. It'll take me about an hour and a half," She walked out, leaving me in the studio by myself.
I sighed as I turned the lights out and walked up the stairs and to my office. We had three hours till the party started but with her being ready in an hour and a half, then I would take half an hour, possibly. Then, we would arrive early to discuss the peace conditions.
I heard the shower start as I entered our bedroom. I walked to the closet and picked out a suit for tonight. While I was picking out a tie, I heard the shower turn off and the hairdryer start up. Putting the red tie in my hands down, I sighed. I probably shouldn't pick a tie out until I see what Alex is wearing that way it can match.
I sat on the edge of the bed as I realized something. I really wanted to help Alex and the fact that she wasn't letting me help her was really frustrating. I also had a bad feeling about this party tonight and I was raised to listen to my gut so I wanted to stay home. But, I had made a promise to this gang and I'm a man of my word. I just hope we would be able to leave before anything happened.
In the middle of my thinking, Alex popped her head through the bathroom door. Her hair was in a clip on top of her head and she hadn't done her make up yet. This is probably the first time I've seen her without makeup and let me say this, she's gorgeous without all the eye shadow and eye liner.
"Quick question. How fancy is this party tonight?" She asked quickly.
"It's fancy, but not meeting the president at a gala fancy."
"So should I wear a skater style dress or a tighter one?" I was honestly surprised at the questions she was asking, she rarely ever asks me thing about this; she usually just wears whatever the hell she wants.
"Uh, either would work. But you'll probably be walking around a lot so maybe a nicer looking cocktail party dress?" I asked since I wasn't so sure.
"Oh that's a good idea. Thanks." She ducked back into the bathroom to do her makeup I assumed. Sighing, I fell back on the bed.

I was able to take a quick shower and style my hair into a quiff that I normally have and I shaved quickly. I had gotten dressed and asked Alex what color she was wearing since she still wasn't dressed. She was curling the last of her hair when I got ready. She told me black and white so I grabbed a black tie.
I was in the kitchen with John when I heard the click of heals from down the hall. I looked up to see Alex in a beautiful white and black cocktail dress with a black flowing piece of fabric flowing behind her. She looked gorgeous and I couldn't think of anything to say as she stared at me.
"What?"
"N-nothing, you look amazing." She smiled at that.
"Thanks. Should we go?" She asked while looking to John.
"Yeah, yeah let's go. The sooner we get there, the sooner we get to leave and come back home."
