Chapter 2: Slayer

'The moon is beautiful tonight'

'It looks so forced sometimes'

It was peculiar when we arrived at the village since I couldn't sense any demons, but there had to be one here. Kocho's hand tightened her grip on her katana handle. I glanced at her. She was pale.

'Strange'

"~Do you sense any demons Tomioka~san?" Kocho asked. I shook my head. "Then, why were we sent here?" She wondered aloud. "What if it's an Upper Moon?" I asked dryly. "~In this small village. It's strange, isn't it?~" She said smiling. "No. It makes sense. No one would suspect an Upper rank out here." I said.

"You see Tomioka~San if you put and point out the obvious no one is going to want to be your friend.~" She poked. I rolled my eyes.

Just as a large boom from the East end of the village. "There's where the demon could possibly be" I pointed out and started to sprint to where the noise was coming from.

(A/N I suck at writing fight scenes so bare with me)

There we two lower-rank demon slayers already fighting the demon. They were in pretty bad shape. The demon wasn't an Upper or Lower rank so I didn't quite understand why they were doing so poorly.

"Water breathing: First Form, Striking Tide," I said decapitating the low-rank demon with ease. "~Oh dear your wounds look deep. Make sure you stop by the Butterfly mansion to get those checked out." Kocho said smiling at the 2 corps members.

"H-How-!?" One asked me. "Were there any other demons here?" I asked the slayer ignoring his question. "N-No" The other replied. I turned and started to walk back to my estate.

'Then why would Master send us here?'

Another large boom came from where I just was and the slayer I was talking to landed right in front of me.

'Kocho' Was the first name that came to my mind. 'She was still over there.' I quickly ran over there and saw a glimpse of white and red and Kocho fighting it.
