There were a lot of things the three had expected for themselves but having grown so close to each other and found adult figures they could trust was not one of them.
Nam had always kept her feelings to herself since her parents were never home and didn't really care for her unless leaving money for her did count as their care but even then sometimes the money wasn't enough to last her all the time they would be gone.
Sorn had a loving mother but his father was abusive, he tried to be cheerful for his mother but it was hard to do it when his father was always there to hurt them, especially when he drank too much.
That never knew the love of a parent since his mother was drug addict that abandoned him as a baby and his father didn't really care about his bastards, he always thought he would be alone but then Tan brought him under his wing and tried to protect him even if he wasn't able to do much when their father was mafia and so they had to be part of it too.
Nam and Sorn had already been friends for some time since they met at school but That integrated their friendship(and something more towards Sorn even if neither of them is ready to admit it yet) very easily and soon the three were inseparable.
What they went through together was what made them grow so close because they knew the pain and trauma the other had gone through and that encouraged them to reveal their own pasts to each other since they knew they could trust the other two.
And then came the two adults they knew they could always trust to have their bets in their mind, Bun and Tan.
While That already was close to Tan, it still surprised him how easily he started to trust Bun but the other two admitted that Bun had a aura that made them trust him because he knew both the good and the evil of the world and would not judge them for their past and choices, only guide them to be better and happy.
Sorn and Nam had a bit of trouble trusting Tan at the beginning but slowly they started to do it when they saw how much he loved Bun and That trusted him. While Tan was part of the mafia, they could see that he would do anything for those he loved and somehow the two had ended up in that group.
So, when the then recently married couple offered to have them live with the two and have the two become their guardians, the three kids didn't lose time in accepting it.
It was the best decision they ever made.
The couple always made sure the three were comfortable and happy but also gave them the space they needed and waited until they were ready to come to them with their problems.
But what they enjoyed the most would be when they woke up early enough to watch Bun make breakfast for all of them.
The first times they tried to be silent so the older men wouldn't notice them but soon they noticed that he knew but chose to let them have their way so after they just went normally and sat at the table watching Bun.
They loved to hear Bun sing, a habit he got after they moved to the new house, and see him so relaxed despite sometimes him having arrived home just in time to make breakfast, eat it and then crash in his Tan's bed after a long day at work.

"P'Bun why do you always sing this song?" Sorn asks curious since the song Bun had been singing, they had heard the older men sing a lot of times
"Hmm, I think it is because it reminds me of Tan and me" Bun answers with a soft smile on his face
"Really? That's sweet" Nam comments and things if she could find a song that would fit her two best friends who still haven't accepted they are in love with each other and of course haven't confessed
"Yes, maybe you should ask Tan since when he likes me and you will understand better" Bun offers and the three kids nod at that "Can one of you help me by setting the table?" he asks turning to them
"I will do it" That says because it was his turn in helping Bun and Tan with things around the house
"Thank you, That" Bun smiles before going back to singing and finishing making breakfast
