As they watched them barbarically torture and kill a 17-year-old boy from behind Camp Jaha, the Grounders' chants never sounded so deadly. Their eagerness for the boy's death sends chills through every Arcadian watching them.

Perhaps it was eagerness for his death but for mercy. An attempt to mend the pain they were enduring.

It wasn't until Clarke turned on her heel and ran to Finn did the last piece of hope they had been holding onto crumble away, his heart sinking to the pit of his stomach.

Clarke grabbed Finn's face into her hands and urgently pressed her lips to his in the rain- a clear last goodbye.

The second they saw his head fall limp against Clarke's shoulder and realized what was going on; Raven's eyes bulged in shock as Clarke pulled slowly away, stepping back to reveal the blood drenching Finn's shirt like a rapidly spreading disease; her arm and the blade in her fingers dripping with a matching dark, crimson shade.

She had plunged the knife Raven had given her to save the boy she loved directly into his chest. After a few seconds, the grounders- infuriated just as they were - screamed in rage and lifted their weapons; beginning to charge after Clarke.

"It is done!" Their commander silenced them with a single roar, stopping an entire army with the mere lift of her hand.

Finn Collins was dead.

Raven Reyes's heart broke in two; the girl wavering on her feet as her world came crashing down. She let out a devastated, bloodcurdling scream as the realization came crashing down on her.

"No!"

Of all the hardships Millie's had to face, none was more punishing than the simple act of waiting.

It was safe to say her eyes never shut throughout the night, and now she paces back and forth in front of the door with her arms crossed over her chest. She's taken three showers, changed her clothes twice, and counted how many cracks split across the ceiling.

The blonde girl was painfully aware of the dozens of cameras aimed at her, and typically she would have kept her composure- but how could she?

How did they know more about her life than she did?

Maybe they were bluffing, maybe they were using it against her. But Millie couldn't risk not knowing, even if it was a lie.

Dr. Tsing finally made her presence known, Millie sprung up as soon as the woman entered the room. The blonde did her hardest to ignore the smug expression plastered on Dr. Tsing's face, clasping her hands behind her back.

"How are you feeling?"

"Fine."

The woman frowned, pressing a few buttons on her monitor. She hums, facing Millie. "The President is busy, he'll see you shortly- until then, how about some food?"

Millie couldn't help but pull her lips into a deep frown, she searched the woman with a calculating look. She was certain she was lying, but the doctor was covering it up expertly. Millie was exhausted, she could feel her body begging her to lie back down and get a few minutes of sleep. But her curiosity went into overdrive. So, for once in her life Millie allowed the woman to believe she had the grounder girl under her control.
