Bellamy Blake stood in front of her now, beaten and bruised and oh so tired. It had only been a couple of days and he already looked so different, maybe it was the exhaustion. Maybe it was the determination. Maybe it was something Millie didn't even know, because for the past 5 days Bellamy has spent believing she was dead.
She couldn't take her eyes off him, like a desert wanderer afraid of mirages. She gazed at him, but to her imagination he was real. He was in the same guards uniform she wore, she imagined he got his the same way she did.
It is strange to miss someone you're not even sure you know, yet beautiful.
Bellamy embraces her first, of course, she was never going to make the first move. He doesn't even walk towards her; his arm is long enough to reach out and pull her towards him. To her surprise he doesn't force her into a bone-crushing hug, instead he grabs her arms and holds her in place. As if he's afraid if he lets go, she'll go away again.
Millie's arms are locked at her side as Bellamy keeps her at arm's length, staring at her.
There wasn't much time for him to stare at her some more, Miller cleared his throat as Maya stood by impatiently. "I hate to break up. . . whatever weird shit is going on here, but we're kind of in the middle of a war." Miller reminds.
Bellamy tears his eyes from hers as he nearly shoves her to the side, racing toward the radio in the wall.
He brings it to his lips, "Camp Jaha, this is Mount Weather. Can anyone read me?"
"Bellamy?" Clarkes voice breaks through the static just as it had before.
A wide grin takes up his face, "Clarke." He breathes, almost surprised it was her.
There's a pause, Maya, Jasper and Milie have now all gathered behind Bellamy to hear Clarkes instructions now. There was a pause, "Are you alright?" Her voice is shaky and quiet, Millie isn't sure if it's the static or if she's crying.
"I'm fine." He reassures, "But that's it for the good news. We have to talk fast. Something has changed. Jasper, Monty, everyone is locked in the room."
"What? Monty was in the chambers last night." Millie pipes up, confused.
Bellamy glances back at her, but that's all she gets. "But they're alive? All of them?" Clarke asks.
"I think so, for now. Maya says that they're already using their blood, and things are gonna get ugly in here real fast." Bellamy reveals, or he thinks he does.
"I know, Millie said, wait– Maya?"
Simultaneously their heads whip to the girl, she keeps her eyes on the ground. "She helped me escape. If not for her, I'd be dead. And, Clarke, there are kids in here. We need a plan that doesn't kill everyone. Please tell me we have one."
"I hear you, but we can't do anything until you disable the acid fog. Raven is gonna help you."
So that's what Bellamy was here for, Millie couldn't help but wonder why he was sent here alone. "Got it. What else."
