All of them looked at each other, nobody could possibly want to go somewhere random with somebody they met an hour before?Cozen immediately said no, as expected. Then Chanel, then Remi, then Becca, then Ace.
As soon as Ace muttered the words, "Yeah, no." Jade gave him a conniving stare and said, "Why not?"
Ace pleaded with his eyes, it seemed very unsafe.
Jade shook her head, and tilted it up.
"Jade," he walked toward her, "Don't you think your sister will be upset?"
Jade was as judgmental and self conscious as they came, she only looked out for herself and would put others down to get ahead.
"No. Why don't you go worry about your other friends some more?"
The others were discussing among themselves too. Ace tried again, "Jade, I just wanna sure you're ok-"
"I said no!"
All of the outside chatter stopped, immediately putting the attention on herself, Kelly said "Let me go check with my parents, but I think I can."
They all knew she wasn't gonna come back outside.
Allie was following Chanel around, who now started bringing her bike out of the drive way.
Allie ran to get hers and went too, "So you're not going, right?"
Chanel let out a light laugh, "Yeah... no. Not a good idea."
Lucas picked up his bike and started down the street.
Chanel called after him, "Lucas! Wait for me!"
Allie questioned, "Where are you guys going?"
"Home. He's just on the way so we'll bike together. You wanna come?"
Allie tried to shake off her eagerness, "I mean, if you wanna bike home with him, that's fine. Lucas is weird though." Now she was playing it cool, mysterious, and manipulative, as she always did.
Chanel's adrenaline pumped up, "You, Jesse, Jade... Like, I dunno why you guys think he's weird. He's just awkward."
Now she was halfway down the street. Allie stood for a few moments, eyes darting from street to driveway. They were all in little groups.
Remi, Cozen, and Becca.
Kai, Ella, and Ronnie.
Jade by herself, Ace by himself.
Allie really didn't feel like hanging out, she'd let her bad attitude rub off on the others.
The annoyance her words caused would only work on the people the group thought deserved it.
But when it came down to the ones who were kind, and well-liked, Allie was just a pain in the ass.
This shattered Allie's ego every time, of course she didn't let it show. She'd get defensive and hide, drowning in insecurities until Chanel saved her again.
With that, she threw herself on her bike and biked down the street.
"Alright guys," Ronnie was speaking assertively, "So, who's coming?"
Jade was the first, "I'm going." She shot a spiteful stare at Ace, and started walking her bike to the end of the driveway.
"Fine, Jade. Be fucking stupid."
Kai chuckled, "Jesus, man. Chill out. Ronnie's cool, I swear."
Ace got pouty when set off whatsoever, "Shut up." He hopped on his bike and sped away.
