chapter 5

Jennie looked through the window while Lisa drove to her home in Newark. Lisa tried to touch her, but she recoiled in her place, afraid she would cling to Lisa again. When they arrived at her home, she seemed still lost. Lisa was surprised she didn't live in an apartment in Manhattan, but in a condo in Newark. Lisa stopped in its entrance to talk with the security guard.

"Hi. I'm with Ms. Kim. She is a little sick. Can you please point the direction to her house?"

The security guard saw Jennie sat in the car and gave her the direction, which Lisa followed. Lisa was impressed again when she arrived at Jennie house. It was beautiful and big. Too big for someone living alone. Lisa left the car and went to open the door for her. Jennie just looked at Lisa with pleading eyes. She never saw so much pain in someone. Lisa helped her out of her car and walked her to the house entrance where she picked up the keys in the purse and opened the door. Jennie looked around her living room and started to cry silently again.

"Ms. Kim... Jennie... Do you need me? I mean... I can stay with you if you need something."

Lisa really didn't want to leave Jennie alone, but she couldn't just stay in her house without her consent. They just really met today. Lisa felt something near happiness when she saw Jennie shook her head yes. She spoke more than two words for the first time since they left their work building.

"If... if you don't have anything to do... I.. I don't want to be alone."

Somewhere in her head Jennie was hearing screams to make Lisa go way, but a part of her wanted comfort today and for some reason she felt... and she was feeling for the first time in so long... that Lisa was there for her.

For Lisa she seemed frail and vulnerable while there in her living room curled in the couch. Lisa wanted to hold her again, but she didn't want to do anything to hurt her. She knew Jennie didn't have lunch because she heard Alison discussing with Jennie about eating and her saying she was not hungry.

"I'll stay. Do you want to eat something? I can cook if you show me where your kitchen is." Jennie pointed out her kitchen.

When Lisa came back Jennie was still curled in the couch, but no tears were seen.

Jennie thought Lisa looked gorgeous carrying the tray with some sandwich and milk. She didn't want to eat, but she had or she would wake up with a terrible headache.

When Lisa came back from the kitchen after cleaning the dishes, she found Jennie sleeping. For a moment, she just kept staring at the woman that got her captivated in a party almost four months ago. Back there she didn't want to go, but Zendaya insisted saying it would be good for her since Lisa was a raising photographer. And She wanted to promote herself a little more after the Golden Globe. Lisa had a rough day and the only thing she wanted was to stay at home drinking wine and hearing Barry Manilow. Ironically, Lisa had to thank Zendaya because two good things happened to her that night. Lisa finally broke up with her and she saw Jennie for the first time.
