Chapter 14

Jennie grabbed Alison by the right arm and led them to the elevator and her office, closing the door behind her.

 "ALISON! This... why are you doing this? Why are you tormenting me?"

Jennie was crying. *What is wrong with me these last days?*

Alison took Jennie's face between her hands.

"Because it is time for you to live again. Whatever happened with Brendan it can't hold you forever, Jennie. Lisa is clearly interested in you... more than interested I daresay." Alison hugged Jennie.

"Oh, Ali. Don't be stupid! Do you know how many times someone gave all the signs they were interested in me... and then, nothing... or they wanted me to help them met one of my friends. You were there some of those times! I've already told you this. I'm not normal! I will never be a normal girl! I can't let myself feel like this. It is too dangerous!"

"Jenn..."

"Ali! If Lisa was interested in me, why would she not kiss me when she had the chance Saturday morning?" Jennie clasped her mouth with her hand aghast by what she said out loud.

"WHAT?"

"I... We..."

"Wait a moment! Saturday morning? She spent the night in your house? You didn't tell me? Jennie... you are a bad girl."

"No. No... it is not like that. I was really bad. Not that way, Ali! She got worried I think and was there to help me. That is all."

"What more?"

 Jennie looked at Alison and knew her friend would not let her get away from it. Alison also knew that Jennie would never lie.

"I was a little... I mean... out of my mind. She slept with me... no..." Jennie made a hand gesture when Alison almost jumped from her chair.

"...she just held me while I slept. That is all. When I woke up she was in the kitchen. I... Ali, she was being such a sweet to me. I couldn't avoid it. I cried and she... just held my face. I closed my eyes... hoping that she would kiss me and then she said it was better for her to go mumbling something about privacy. Really interested huh?"

"JENNIE! How can you be so stupid? She was right. I mean. Lisa helped you with whatever was wrong and she clearly didn't want to take advantage of you! She is definitively a good girl! God... I am a happy married woman, but if not... I'd date her right..."

"HEY!"

"You. Are. Jealous! Oh, my!"

Mino choose that moment to appear.

"Who is jealous!"

"Jennie... of Lisa?"

"Alison... I'M NOT!"

Mino was looking at Alison and she was wearing a satisfied smile in her face.

"So. There is something going on between you two."

"No. There isn't. Ok! I had a bad Friday, Lisa helped me, she called to know if I was well and she didn't want to kiss me. This discussion ends here. Get out!"

After leaving Jennie's office, Alison turned to Mino.

"Mino. I think it is time for us to have a fatherly talk with Lisa."
