Preparing Four School~Chapter 1

Tris's Pov

I open my eyes to the sun shining through my window and the birds chirping which always seems to put me in a great mood.

I roll over to the other side of my bed to my nightstand and i flip my phone over and check the time which reads 8:26 Am, this is an early time for me to wake up especially on a weekend but I have Anxious energy running throughout my body being that tomorrow is the first day of school and it's not an ordinary first day it's my first day of school at a brand new school called Faction High, my parents Andrew and Natalie Prior wanted to send me to Divergent High which is an all girls school but we simply couldn't afford it and to be honest I'd rather not go to an all girls school because I'm really not one for drama and gossip.

Me, My Mom, My Dad and my Brother Caleb recently moved here to Chicago, we used to live in Australia but my Mom recently got a new job working as an Uber Driver and my dad got a new job working at a Metro Bus Transit Shop so due to their new jobs we had to move but I'm really happy for them getting new jobs i think its a good lifestyle change for our Family.

Plus back in Australia there are some bad memories that I'd rather leave behind...

Finally when i roll out of bed I slip on a pair of blue shorts.

Since it's August and were still in summer so most nights the temperature doesn't go below 70 degrees so I usually just wear a t-shirt and underwear to bed.

After i slip on my shorts i decide to go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face and then I skip down the stairs i have no idea why I'm in a bubbly mood but I can't complain.

I smell the delightful smell of chocolate chips pancakes and that's when i see Caleb standing in front of the stove cooking breakfast, i quietly sneak up behind him.

I wrap my arms around him and he nearly jumps out of his skin and he jumped which caused him to flip the pancake perfectly if i say so myself.

"BEATRICE OH MY GOSH WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!! I could of killed these Pancakes" he says

"Sorry Caleb i wanted to surprise you this morning" I say.

"Well, you surprised me alright, Good Morning Beatrice how are you doing this morning?" he asks

"I'm pretty good, i feel in an oddly good mood this morning but other than that I'm splendid, How about yourself?" I say

"I'm good, just making you guys some breakfast this morning so we can all have some energy so we can have a productive day to prepare for school tomorrow" he says.

"Thank s Caleb, would you like me to help you with breakfast i can make the toast and set the table if you'd like?" I say.

"Okay, sounds great" he says.

I go to the pantry to retrieve the bread and pop in four pieces of bread one for Caleb, one for mom, one for dad, and one for me.

As I'm walking over to the cupboard to get out plates and silver wear for our breakfast i hear a lot of moving going on upstairs and then i hear footsteps creeping down the stairs.

"Beatrice what are you doing up so early?" my mom croaks.

"Hey! I'm here too" Caleb shouts.

"Sorry to wake you mom we were just making breakfast for you guys" I say.

"Oh how sweet of you guys, no worries you didn't wake me i was coming downstairs anyway to make some ginger tea I have a sore throat this morning i think I might be coming down with a cold" She says.
