A Gift

Annabeths pov

When I got dressed I noticed a envelope by my door. I picked it up then sat on my desk to look at it. The letter was grey with a fancy bright blue swirling design on one side. I opened it and murmured what it said.
"Annabeth, I have something very important to tell you. Meet me by the lake at 6:30?
P.S. Wear something nice.

Percy Jackson.

I grinned. I hurried to my closet and picked a dress even though the date wasn't until tonight. The dress was black and had flowery white lace. It went to my mid thigh. I was going to wear white sandals with it. I squealed with excitement but calmed myself down because I was acting like an Aphrodite girl.

The day was full of fighting, training, and everything else you could expect in a demigod camp. I didn't really pay attention to any of it because I was excited for tonight. Something told me this was not going to be an ordinary date.

At 6:28 I was at the lake. Just after I got there Percy came up behind me.

"Hey, where are we going?" I asked.

"A five star Italian restaurant." Percy seemed nervous.

"Okay then let's go." I was just a little exited, notice my sarcasm? What if he proposed I thought but quickly stopped. I had thought about that before and chances were it wasn't going to happen this time. Maybe. We arrived and the date went normal, except Percy kept checking the time and was really nervous. Toward the end of the night things changed.

"Hey, so I got a umm, uhh, a surprise" he stuttered shoving a box wrapped in blue into my hands. "Well it's for you, incase you didn't know. I mean obviously you knowed. You know because your a son of Athena. I mean a daughter! A daughter of Athena. That you know of course." He gave me a lopsided grin while I stared at him then started opening the present.

"No, no no. Open it tomorrow Annabeth."

"Okay." I frowned and put the box in my bag. Percy drove us back to camp in silence. After we said goodnight I went into my cabin and face planted my bed. Well, I guess I wasn't going to get engaged today.

Still Annabeths pov

I was still disappointed when I woke up, until I remembered the gift. It was a poor wrapping job, really. The present was only a couple inches thick and a little smaller than a notebook. I shook it but couldn't find out what it was. I opened it, tearing the paper apart and throwing it around my bed. I gasped when I took it out. It was an IPad mini. When I turned it in the background was a picture of Percy and me the first time we kissed. I had no idea how he got the underwater kiss picture, but I loved it. It only had a notebook app so I opened it. Percy had written a note on it.
Hey, good morning, Annabeth. I hope you slept well. I hope you are up for some fun, beautiful. No, this is not your only present. Here is your first clue to your big surprise.
Walks in the park are so much fun,
Especially when in your hand is a warm croissant bun.
P.S. I got permission for you and Piper to leave camp for this scavenger hunt. Have Fun.

Oh. My. Do I even have to say how sweet that is? Percy sucks at poems but I love it! I went down by Thalias tree to find Piper waiting.

"Hey, Percy said something about-"

"Me coming with you on a scavenger hunt? I know I got a gift from Jason last night. It was an IPad mini but I couldn't open it until today. In the notes was a cute little poem for a scavenger hunt!"

"Really? The same exact thing happened to me last night with Percy! Ready to go to the park?"
