The next morning Dean woke up to a Cas who wore the blue flannel from Dean with all buttons closed but the highest two, already in jeans and messy hair from sleeping. He buttoned his jeans and didn't seem to notice that Dean was already awake and watching him, when he whispered to Miracle to get out the room. Cas opened the door for her and they sneaked out.

Dean couldn't help but smile about it. He didn't even know if Cas would know what to do with the dog all by himself, but they had gone together every evening so far and he figured it shouldn't be anything too hard to do.

Dean couldn't have been more thankful for Cas leaving, because he felt his morning wood in his pants. And that was the last thing he would want Cas to see. He begged in his mind that he didn't.

He knew it was normal and he realized Cas must have had them too,

Interesting...

What? NO!

But if sleeping in one bed together was one step towards the line, the morning erection thing was a whole jump over it.

He just waited for it to go away and when it did, he stood up. He walked into his old room and fished some stuff to wear from the duffle bag.

Yesterday he called Kate and explained that he wouldn't come to work on Monday -which was today- because of a family emergency. She sounded suspicious but allowed him to stay the day. He would drive back with Cas today, but he decided to let Cas choose what he wanted to do. The last days he kind of had to follow Dean wherever and yesterday was supposed to be a whole day to spent how Cas wanted him to, but they never got the chance. So today it must be.

In the kitchen there was already a smell in the air of a beautifully arranged breakfast that Dean didn't have to prepare himself. Eileen and Sam had put in a lot of effort to please everyone.

"I hope it's at least real bacon," Dean mentioned accusingly and sat down at the bench opposite to Jody and Claire. They had scooted the table over a bit away from the wall and put a chair there and on the opposite side, so everyone would have enough space to sit down and eat.

Cas came back a few minutes before everything was placed on the table. He went over to the sink and washed his hands. He asked if he could help them somehow but Eileen told him to just sit down and wait. He walked towards the table and Dean shifted to make him space to sit down next to him. Cas did and smiled at Dean when their eyes crossed. Dean blushed a little in his ears and cheeks and had no idea why. Probably because Cas' smiles were always so genuine that it made his heart ache of appreciation.

And affection.

"So, was she a good girl?"

"I have never not seen her be, so I'd say yes."

"Thank you for taking her," Dean said rather quietly and secretly, so Jody and Claire wouldn't hear him.

"My pleasure," Cas whispered back and gave him a half smile.

Jody mustered them, not hearing a single word because of the loud background noises from roasting something and water boiling, but immediately noticing the electric tension between them. It wasn't even for her Mama-senses, it was just very blatantly obvious to her.

The breakfast was great, a lot of heart was put into it. There was freshly made bread, cooked eggs and scrambled, bacon, croissants and all sorts of toppings. Cas immediately reached for peanut butter and jam. They ate very peacefully and talked a lot.

"So I have been thinking..." Claire started.

"Oh Lord," Dean snarked. Claire made a goofy mocking face.
