"Would you please get off your phone? this is a serious situation" Peter scolded Casey, they were nearing the location Miguel gave and Casey was going through her messages. The last message she received from her mom was from the first day of school when she was dropped off.

Casey ignored Peter and began to text her mom back, maybe she forgot to pay her phone bill? Not likely, she was always on top of bills.

Peter snatched her phone and placed it in his robe pocket, Casey glared at him. Miles and Hobie felt a random wave of heat they knew could only come from Casey's attitude so they stop walking and turn around to see what was up.

"Keep fucking with me and find out why they call me the soul snatcher" Casey threatened and held her phone out for her phone, Peter stared at her in wide eyed fear and quickly handed her the phone back. He knew she had some form of super strength and he was not about to mess with a rookie who hasn't even been trained to handle her powers yet.

"I wanna find out!" Hobie calls from a few feet ahead, Miles wasted no time in slapping him upside the head- which Hobie shamefully accepted.

The girl rolled her eyes at Hobie and went back on her phone, she was still on delivered. Her mom wouldn't do this, she always replied unless she was at work, but it was almost midnight? she got off at 11 unless she was working doubles.

Hobie felt his heart pump louder in his chest with every step he took towards the warehouse. He knew exactly where they were going, they didnt need Peter's directions and everyone but Casey knew it. Gradually the sounds around him zoned out once he felt his heart pump in his ears, every step, another memory.

"Mom! Eliza!"

Hobie's heart stopped all at once when he saw the warehouse in the distance, the boy stopped walking. Miles and Peter studied him warily, they watched how his legs began to shake and the rest of his body became stiff.

Suddenly he turned around and headed straight for Casey.

She decided to accept that her mother was working late and was putting her phone away when she felt a tingly feeling behind her neck, all her senses heightened and she heard fast footsteps coming straight for her, her head shot up and she readied herself for attack. Casey relaxed when she saw it was Hobie, he was sweaty and stiff as he sped walk to her.

What do I even say? what do I do? she won't listen to me even if I beg her on my knees to stay.

Once he reached the girl he grabbed her hands and placed them on his racing heart, staring into her eyes.

"I want- no, I need you to stay here" he spoke fast but steady, Casey laughed and shook her head.

"Absolutely not you're not going in there by yourself"
