The soulmate curse

Chapter 1

She opened her eyes as the sunlight shone through her window directly onto her face. Slowly she pulled back the covers and stood up, leaving the warmth of her bed behind.

It was raining outside, it hadn't done so for a long time. The plants were certainly happy and even she was pleased with the refreshing smell of the rain.

On her messy desk lay several documents, all filled with information about 8 certain people. She was sure that she would find these men at the university and slowly kill them all one by one.

Of course, she was aware that if she killed these men, 8 people would lose their soulmates, but driven by fury, she didn't care. Their soulmates should thank her in advance.

They killed her brother, her kind, fearless and caring brother. He was always there for her, since their parents died when she was very young. Gale was 5 years older than her, he already found his soulmate, Mary, she was as caring as Gale and treated Ronny, as her sister.

Unfortunately, Mary killed herself the night she found out Gale died. The pain was too much to bear. When Ronny found her brothers fiancé dead the next day, she couldn't believe that the only person she had left, killed herself.

From that day on, she was alone, there were days, were she wished to be dead. Were she saw her dead brother in front of her eye, covered in blood, telling her that he loves her.

She put on some blue jeans and a white shirt, it was her brothers shirt, the scent was slowly fading away, but it was a part of him and she guarded it like the apple of her eye.

She tied her wavy black hair, that almost reached her hip, in a ponytail and put on some light makeup.

Before taking the bus to her university, she memorized the faces of the 8 men, she had to find. The bus ride was calming like always, she liked it since she was a little kid and her brother would bring her to the daycare. He always allowed her to sit at the window, so that she could relax and enjoy the view.

When she still was her old, happy, curious and shy self, she would excitedly point out of the window and show her brother the sunset. It pained her to know that she would never again show her brother the wonders of the nature, he had loved them so much.

The arrival at the University was a little chaotic, as every young adult in the bus stood up and wanted to get to the door, as fast as possible. When a young man pushed her accidentally against the door, that was when she felt her arm burning, slowly fading into a tingling feeling.

The young man that pushed her, slowly turned his head as she did the same. Her eyes meeting his brown orbs, she recognized him as one of the 8 guys on the files she had on her desk. She wanted to kill him on the spot, she shot him a glare.

"I'm sorry" he muttered, suddenly his eyes widened and he looked down onto his arm, covered by a yellow sweatshirt. He pulled up his sleeve, and she couldn't look away.

There on his arm, it looked like a tattoo, were her initial: R.H, Ronny Huang. She then pulled her sleeve up too, she nearly screamed, were the letters: F.L, Felix Lee.

She couldn't believe it, the man she wanted to kill so badly, was her soulmate!

It was only then when she spotted the 7 other marks on his arm, neck, leg and hands. As we know this is a main character who isn't oblivious, she already had the suspicion, that the others could be the other 7 men she wanted to kill as well.

Or, wanted to kill. Now that she knew that this man and the others were her soulmates, she didn't want to and couldn't kill them anymore. She remembered her brothers words.

"Whoever your soulmate or soulmates are, you should love them and cherish them, till you die, okay Ronny?"

She still remembered her answer. "I will, even if they did something terrible!" And she would grin at him, like the little child she was.

Her train of thoughts abruptly stopped when the young man, or Felix, started talking to her excitedly.

"Woah! You're my soulmate! That's so cool!!! I am Felix, Felix Lee. Who are you?"

At first she didn't even realise that he was talking to her. "Oh! Me?"

He nodded, "Yes you"

"Ah, well. My name is Ronny Huang."

"Do you want to exchange numbers?"

That was straight forward.

"So that we can keep in touch and could meet my and your other soulmates! They will be happy to hear that I found you!"

She handed him her mobile and he started to write his number, when he handed her the phone back, she said goodbye and then, ran off.

It looked like he wanted to say something else, but she had already run away. She had to think for a long time. She knew that she could no longer kill the eight men, but she did not want to let them live without revenge either.

After she had searched for them for years and her plans had been perfect.She knew that she still had to find out.

But she had to keep the boys alive, if only for her brother. But she knew that if they all were as handsome as Felix was right now, it wouldn't be long before she wouldn't even think about killing anymore.

Somehow she couldn't stop thinking about Felix. How his eyes had shone, how he had looked at her so brightly. Even though he didn't know her, he was willing to risk his life for her.
