Chapter 38

Marcus's  POV

"We have to get you to a hospital Ruth".
"I can't". "Why you may get blind".

"Oh Marcus!", she sobbed,I need the  money".

"I'll give you money enough to leave this
family and never come back".

"Oh son,I wish it were that easy. Your family isn't the normal type of rich Marcus. I am binded to them".

"What do you mean?", I asked confused.

"I can't  speak of it ever but I am permanently binded to this family, I can't leave if I wanted to I've tried. I love you  Marcus, you're like the son I had to abort and I am telling you this genuinely 'you will die if you stay in this family'.

Marcus I raised you, I couldn't touch Coleand that's why he's the way he is now but you I could raise you. I watched you grow and when you outed to me I've never felt more close,I watched that brat and these people make you hate yourself. I love you and you're a wonderful man always know that but these people will kill you.

Literally and mentally, these people are evil Marcus. You weren't always this way, at a point you were a happy little boy". She then smiled at the memory.

"That Ethan boy that you love, he's not worth your time, I don't want to hurt you but he isn't worth I just know".

Everything she said was right except that part, Ethan he is is....., I don't know.

"Leave this place and never come back".

"They have a choke hold on my college if I defy them now they can stop me from graduating".

"I know but when you get your diploma leave I love too much to watch you die, I love you".

She then walked away from me and fainted eventually in which I ignored her warning and instantly tried to take her to the hospital.

I wasn't allowed to, when I tried to cross the gates, the guards didn't allow me to, instead they took her away from me.

I sat in my room, this place reminds me of so many bad memories.

My bed was cold, and smelt like Ethan.
The scent of Ethan was a little too prominent like he'd been here far more often without my knowledge.

I thought of Ethan and my mind felt broken. On one hand I love him but I'm not sure anymore, there's something there for him but just not as strong as it was before.

The thought of him wasn't making me breathless or swayed in awe but it still made my heart beat a little faster than it should have, the thought of him was painful so I stopped thinking of him.

My mind then drifted to Ruth, I can't leave her In this house if I do she'll die.

I just recently realized that my mom is not as sane as she presents herself to be.

What even happened to Cole, it's not like I miss him but I haven't seen him in a while and I'm glad about that but he still seems to be causing trouble.
