I heard the door to the bathroom open and heard the footsteps approach the stall that I was in. "Grace?" A voice said before Hermione peaked her head into the stall. "Grace, are you okay?" He said before bending down and looking at my hand. "Why are you in here?" I asked as I hid my face in my hands. "Draco told me you ran in here." I put my hands down and looked up at her. "He did? Then why didn't he come in here?"
"He thought you wouldn't want to see him." I stood up and wiped my tears. "Well, he was right." Hermione followed as I walked out of the stall and to the sink to splash water in my face. "What did he do?" I looked back at Hermione and took a deep breath. "I stood up to Umbridge, and he just sat there looking like a scared lost puppy." I said, crossing my arms. "Grace, Draco is a kiss ass. What did you expect from him?" I looked at her, surprised as she didn't usually cuss.
"I guess I expected him to talk back to her like I did or... hurt her?" Saying it out loud made me realize how wrong I was. "This sounds stupid, I'm sorry, Hermione." Hermione hugged me and chuckled a bit. "It's okay, Grace, but it's not me you should be apologizing to."
I walked out of the bathroom and saw Draco sitting on the floor against the wall. "Draco?" He looked at me and jumped up. "I'm sorry, Draco, I made a big deal about nothing, and I was in a lot of pain." Draco pulled me against him in a tight hug. "It's okay, Grace. I should have stood up to her." He said as he rested his head onto mine. "No, Draco, it's best that you didn't, I wouldn't want you to get into trouble."
He backed up a little bit and looked2 down at me. "Is your face and hand okay?" I nodded and smiled. "Yeah, did your hand get hurt too?" He shook his head and showed me his hand, which looked untouched. "No, she didn't do that to me." I grabbed his hand and looked at it before looking back at him. "She gave you a regular journal." Now I felt targeted and even more hurt, not because of Draco but because Umbridge is a bitch.
It was now winter break, and my hand still looked like I burnt it on an oven, but it didn't hurt anymore. Hermione and I went back to the secret organization place with Harry and Ron as they were celebrating Christmas there. I sat at the dinner table and watched everyone open presents when there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it!" I said as everyone brushed it off and continued to have fun.
I walked up to the door and opened it to see Draco in his fancy black suit with his hands behind his back. "Draco!" I said cheerfully. "What are you doing here?" He smiled and put his hands out towards me with a present in them. "Merry Christmas!" He said before handing me the present. I giggled and opened the present to reveal a necklace box that had a silver chained necklace with a pink heart locket in it. I opened the locket to find a tiny photo on Draco and I together.
"I love it so much, Draco, thank you!" I put the locket back into the necklace case before hugging Draco. "Now I feel bad that I didn't get you anything." He smiled down at me and kissed my forehead. "Being able to see you is a good enough present." Oh my goodness, my heart just exploded.
I kissed Draco goodbye before he left to go back home and ran inside to put the locket on. I loved it so much! I hoped he didn't spend that much money on it, though. I needed to get him a preset, so I put my shoes on and a coat before walking back downstairs.
"Hermione! Can you go with me to get Draco a present." She smiled and agreed, so we headed out of the apartment building and towards the town square. "What do you think Draco would like?" Hermione pondered for a moment before dropping her hands and shaking her head. "I have no clue. He probably already has everything."
As we walked down the road, I finally thought of a good present. "I know! I will get him a dreamcatcher and a stuffed animal!" Hermione looked at me confused. "Why those things?" Should I tell her? No, I shouldn't. "It's private!" I said before grabbing her hand and dragging her to the nearest store with dreamcatchers and stuffed animals.
I walked in and looked around to find a black Dreamcatcher in the shape of a cresent moon. It was perfect, so I got it and looked around for a stuffed animal. I soon found a really cute, black weighted dragon stuffed animal. It was very fluffy, and I was kinda jealous that I wasn't getting it for myself.
I bought the Dragon stuffed animal, the cresent moon dreamcatcher, and a Christmas bag with some tissue paper. Hermione and I then went back to the apartment where Ron and Harry were. I ran up to the bedroom and put Dracos gifts into the bag, but before I put the tissue paper on top, I thought I would write him a sweet letter.
"Dear Draco,
When I was younger, I used to wish upon shooting stars that I would find my own prince charming. I always adored the Disney movies and hoped that I would have a love story of my own like Belle in the Beauty and the Beast or Snow White, but those fairy tales are not real. I have not found a prince charming, I have found something better or someone. I have found you. I love you so much, Draco, and I feel so lucky to have found someone like you.
-forever yours, Grace"I put the letter into an envelope and then into the bag with his other presents. I then put the tissue paper into the bag as well, making it look all nice and neat. Now I had to figure out how to give it to him.
