Don't live in the past

It had been just over a week since the conversation with my father, his words still lingering in the back of my brain like an itch you can't get rid of. I hadn't spoken to Charles since that day either, he seemed to be avoiding me so I just kept my distance.

Even though I've only known Logan for a couple of weeks it feels like it's been years, whenever I have free time I always try and talk to him and whenever I do I cant stop smiling. He has gotten the week off so that he can come to Australia to watch the race, one that I'm very excited about. I've always loved racing in Australia, the track, the fans, and just the atmosphere itself. Its one of my favourite places to race and I'm hoping that I can do well this weekend.

FP1 starts in less than an hour so I sat next to my brother in the Redbull garage, my earphones burst playing music through my ears to relax my other senses ready for driving.

When the clock warned me of the 10 minutes left until I would go out onto the track, I took a seat in my car waiting for the go ahead from my engineer to go out onto the track.

Luckily it wasn't raining, driving on a wet track isn't exactly my strong suit.

"Good luck," Max muttered to me crouching beside my car before taking a seat with the rest of the team.

When I got a thumbs up from my radio engineer, I was off. I was released just behind Arthur, his rear wing being the only thing I could see in front of me.

Seconds later we were out on track, adrenaline coursing through my veins preparing for my fast lap.

My energy burning with every lap I completed.

"P1, Well done, hopefully we can get this good of a result tomorrow in qually," My radio engineer said to me through my comms.

A smile spread across my face as I pulled my car back into the pits. All of my team congratulating me on a great start to the weekend as I got out of my car. Pulling off my helmet, I realised that Logan was stood in the corner of the garage, talking to Max.

Logan's gaze shifted to me, his mouth morphing into a smile. Max turned around to look at me, he jogged to me with a proud look on his face.

"Amazing start to the weekend," he laughed pulling me into a hug.

I rolled my eyes at Logan behind who was pouting. After pulling away from Max, I walked over to him and and playfully punching his shoulder before pulling him into an embrace.

"You did great," he whispered, I could feel his breath on my neck.

"Thanks," I chuckled, my hands resting on the nape of his neck.

I could hear Max chucking behind us, I response I stuck my middle finger up at him.

"ga weg max (go away Max)" I hissed, letting go of Logan.

"iemands verdediging (someone's defensive)" He laughed walking away to prepare for his practice.

"So that's your Brother?"

"Mhm, yep, that is my brother," I confirmed, a little nervous about what Max had said to him.

"He is not at all like you described," he chuckled, turning to look at my brother who was getting ready to get into his car.

I'm guessing, me describing him as protective, dominating and embarrassing didn't exactly do him justice.

"Ah, you must be the infamous Logan," Arthur shouted to us at the entrance to the garage.

He walked over and shook Logan's hand, a smug expression plastered on his face.

"Arthur, I'm guessing," he laughed, he seemed to enjoy how annoyed I looked.

"How many more of you are going to walk through that door, is Charles going to walk in?" I shouted, it was like they had all scheduled walking in the second Logan got there.

"Charles?" Logan's words echoed through the air like yelling in an empty room.

"His brother.... and... my Ex boyfriend. You know, the one you met at the bowling alley," I admitted.

"He is your Ex?" The shock on his face was obvious.

"Tu ne lui as pas dit que Charles est ton ex (You didn't tell him that Charles is your Ex," Arthur whispered.

"No, I didn't Arthur, it kind of slipped my mind."

I didn't forget to mention it, I just wasn't exactly too keen on telling Logan that I work and hang out with the two boys I've loved and that one of them is my best friend's brother.

"Mila, have you seen Arthur?" Of course he showed up, I fucking called it.

"Yep, he is right here," I yelled wafting my hand at Arthur, My tone filled with irritation.

Charles' face fell when he saw us all, regret shone in his eyes, the same eyes that looked like he hadn't slept in days.

He nodded his head gently towards Logan before taking Arthur by the arm and pulling him away.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you that Charles is my Ex," I apologised hoping it won't effect anything.

"It's fine," he laughed, "you wanna go grab some food?"

"Of course," I smiled, looping my arm through his and leading him to the exit.

It's time for me to stop worrying about the past and start focusing on my future, what it holds and who I hold it with.
