Harmony had not heard from JR in two days and she was extremely worried. She was finishing up her homework in the lounge area when she saw Damon entering their Residence Hall. She waved him over, hoping he had some news about JR. As soon as he reached her, he greeted her with a friendly "Hey."
"Hey, have you heard from J.R.?" Harmony questioned, closing her MacBook. "I was actually going to ask you the same thing," Damon replied, making her sigh, "No, I haven't. He was, like, a no-show for practice, and no one's seen or heard from him since Sunday." He informed Harmony.
"Last I saw him was Sunday, too. " She breathed out. "Well, was he okay when you last saw him? What happened?" Damon began to inquire. Harmony thought about telling him about JR's parents' divorce but decided against it. She knew that JR would want to tell Damon himself, especially since they suspected they might be brothers. "No," She lied, shaking her head. "He was perfectly fine."
"That's strange. Have you been to the Kappa house?" Damon asked again. "His frat brothers haven't seen him either." Harmony replied, "It's not like him to disappear." Damon opened his mouth to respond, but suddenly the electricity went out in the building. "What the...?" Harmony trailed while she and Damon looked around, confused, "Yo, what is going on?" He questioned.
"The power's out," Nate stated, joining them with Keisha and Simone by their side. "Well, that's an amazing observation," Harmony grumbled, using her phone as a flashlight. "Have we activated the emergency protocol?" Walinda inquired. "Girl, we don't even know that there is an emergency," Harmony interjected.
"OK. My dad just said that the blackout is citywide." Keisha replied, reading her text from her father out loud. "All right. Everybody listen up. It looks like the heat wave stressed the power grid, so the blackout's all over town." Keisha announced.
"Guess we got to do our part to stay cool." One of the male students exclaimed before taking off his shirt, causing some of the girls to hoot. "OK. No. No" Harmony grimaced, "Y'all need to chill."
"Yeah, This blackout is not an invitation for y'all to be wilding in these streets." Keisha voiced. The students waved both of the R.A.s off before going back to what they were originally doing. "I give you an "A" for effort." Simone told the two girls, "Thank you." Keisha replied while Harmony flashed her a sincere smile. "I'm just glad that Art's the R.A. On duty and not me and Harm." Keisha spoke, referring to the male R.A.
Harmony hummed in agreement, "Oh, speaking of, we should probably go help him gather some candles and some lights," She suggested to Keisha, who nodded. "So y'all behave," Harmony called out to her friends. "Especially you." She shot at Nate, who dramatically gasped. "Me?"
