It was now their 3rd day there, food and water was now low. Samara sat next to Natalie who was now changing her bandage on her right arm.

"Shit Nat you tryna cut of my circulation or something" said Mara gritting her teeth.

"Oh calm down you big baby I'm trying to keep it from getting infected and by the looks of it I think it already is" Nat said while going to look up at Samaras forehead.

"Why'd you even go back into the plane you idiot, I thought I lost you" said Nat slightly scolding her best friend.

"Didn't know you were such a nurse Natty" said Samara trying to lighten the mood, smirking when she used a nickname she knew her best friend hated.

"Ow!" she exclaimed while she felt her best friend tap her forehead.

"Kinda had to become one for you Mara, remember all those fights you would get in when we were kids" said Nat softly while looking in her eyes.

"They had it coming mostly Bobby Farleigh remember the names he used to call us, he's the whole reason everyone started calling me a "dyke", I hate him so much" Mara scoffed while rolling her eyes. Hearing this Nat quickly cleared her throat. Bobby Farleigh was the whole reason Maras dad started beating her, he's the reason Lottie was so scared to get caught with Mara in public.

They now sat with the others talking about the little food they had left.

"Split this water. "Van stated as she passed the water bottle over. Everyone had a small proportion of water in their cups. Travis walked over taking food from the pile.

"What the fuck?" Mara said getting ready to beat his ass before Natalie got her hand.

"Maybe you didn't notice but we are kind of in a situation here, flex. "Lottie scoffed

"Don't. "Natalie ordered as Travis glared at her before walking away.

"Who died and made him king of Snacks. "Lottie mumbled as Natalie turned to face her

"His dad Lottie. Literally his fucking dad."Natalie defended the boy.

"Nats right we should cut him some slack."Jackie agreed.

"I guess it's fine if we all starve to death as long as Travis's feelings are okay."Mari argued

"We're not gonna starve to death. Okay when the rescue team gets here-" Jackie began before getting cut off

"If it gets here. "Van added causing
Jackie to look up towards her

"Don't say that."  Said Jackie as she was interrupted by Tai running back to the group. "Guys!" said Tai slightly out of breath.

"Guys, there's a lake! There's a lake. I saw it from that hill," she said, pointing to somewhere behind her.

"It looks about four or five miles away."

"Do you think we could hike it?"
Asked Shauna.

"It's pretty rocky but yeah."

"Uh, we...We can't.. we can't just leave." said Jackie standing up to go in front of Taissa.

"We've got two days of water, tops."

"And then what? Just sit around and die?"

"What if the rescue team comes?" Defended Jackie.

"Do you think they're taking their time on purpose? If they knew where we were, they would be here already."
