Loud and proud

I take a deep breath in and lift myself of the floor. Hobie starts walking off and shouts "You coming?" before putting his mask back on and running over the the villain.

I run over and I see Pav jumping around trying to entangle the rhino but he keeps breaking out.

"Little help please?" Pav yells at us and Hobie strums his guitar loud enough that the rhino stops to cover his ears. The sound vibrates through my body and I plug my ears as well.

I will never get used to that

I quickly recover and swing over to the rhino and kick him in the head which knocks him on his back.

While mid air I shoot webs at the build on both sides of me and use it and a sort of mechanism that lets me bounce and repeatedly kick the rhino in its stomach.

"This is great craic!" I yell before hitting him one last time in the head.

Pav and Hobie have taken this time to tie up the anomaly in their webs.

I doubt that's gonna hold.

I release my hold on the buildings mid air and backflip away from the villain. When I land I immediately start wrapping the rhino up as well, hoping to god the extra webs can help it hold.

Unfortunately it does not. The rhino tears the webs off of him and begins charging at me, I jump away avoiding it but the rhino doesn't stop. Instead he continues on and heads towards a crowd of people that had gathered to watch the fight.

Fuck

Pav jumps over me and gets on the rhino, grabbing its horn and lifting it up wards so that he stops to try and get Pav off of him. Me and Hobie quickly run past the beast and start clearing the crowd

"Everyone out of here!" Hobie yells as he starts forming a wall with his webs, I notice what he's doing and understand what he's trying to do so I help. The wall creates a border between the public and the rhino, preventing him from doing any harm.

Once that's done I jump back and run around the rhino tying his legs up to try and knock him over but he just breaks out again.

"We need to get him unconscious! He's just gonna keep breaking out otherwise" you yell and Pav and Hobie take note.

"Cover y'a ears!" Hobie yells and Pav jumps off the the rhino and we both run over to the same car and plug our ears.

Our fingers don't do much as the sound Hobie's guitar plays is incredibly loud. It feels like I have my head pressed against a speaker, and I'm worried my ears may start to bleed.

The noise goes on as Hobie plays more notes, and I clench my whole body tightly trying to do anything that prevents the ear melting sound from worming its way into my eardrums.

The noise continues to overwhelm my senses till it eventually fades away. Once everything goes silent me and Pav open our eyes and stare at each other

"That was loud" Pav laughs and I nod "just a wee bit"

We stand up and I plug my nose and blow to get my ears back to normal. "Did you have to do that?" I groan and Hobie laughs "It worked didn't it?"

I can just tell he's grinning under that mask

I look over at the unconscious rhino and roll my eyes. I walk over to him and kneel down to try and find a pulse

"what you doing there" He leans over my shoulder
"making sure you didn't kill him" I turn around and our faces were a little to close for comfort

I would literally die on the spot if we didn't have these masks on

We just stare at each other for a few seconds before I turn around quickly and deliberately hit him with my ponytail.

"Alright then" he chuckles and walks off. Once he's gone I find a pulse a breath a sigh of relief "call Miguel! He's alive"

Pav complies and calls Miguel for back up

"Didn't hurt your ears too much did I?" Hobie asks and chuckles "maybe a little, they're ringing a smidge" I chuckle and scratch my ear a little

"Maybe you joining us isn't a good idea then"

"What?"

What's he on about now

"The band, if you can't handle something that loud I mean" he shrugs his shoulders and I smack him cause him to laugh

"They're a difference between a concert and THAT"

"I use this guitar for the gigs we do so not really"

"Guess you'll just have to take me to one and we'll see" I laugh and Hobie looks like he's thinking it over

"We've got one coming up, once I get my crap from peter's we could go over and you could meet em"

"I'd like that" I smile to yourself but I feel a shiver down my spine and an sick feeling in my stomach so I turn around and see Miguel walking toward us.

Why is my spider sense such an awful feeling ugh

"You did a good job once you finally got here." Miguel remarked and looked at the unconscious body of the rhino.

"I know right we're awesome" Hobie says and puts his arm around my shoulder

I don't hate this

"You're a good team" Miguel says with a slight smile.

The sight of the corner of his mouth going up slightly is a new one. He seems genuinely proud of us, which weirdly feels great.

"Not a team, just awesome" Hobie remarks and leans more of his body weight onto me "why not a team?" I ask and he looks at me and goes to say something but stops himself.

"Dunno" he shrugs and removes his arm from around me. He opens up a portal with his watch and gestures for me to come with him.

Obviously I'm gonna follow.
