Anarchists - Hobie Brown x F!Reader

Awkward morning

I wake up with a jolt to the sound of my alarm going off. I try and get up but a heavy weight on my chest is preventing me, I look down and see Hobie curled up on top of me with his head in the crook of my neck.

"Hobiee" I groan and I try and fail to push him off of me

"5 minutes" I barely hear him whisper into my skin

"We have to get up please hobs" I say as I hit his back

Hobie groans and the action and moves half of his body off of me. I push the rest of him off and as I stand up but I immediately feel lightheaded and start seeing stars.

"Fuck" I mumble before falling back onto the bed

"You ok (y/n)?" I hear Hobie say behind me with worry coating every word. His voice is deeper then normal which is a surprise to me, but I don't think much off it and try and get back up.

"Yeah, just...hangover and heat" I say not caring to explain the ongoing issue to him "You don't have to come" I say as I walk over to my closet

"Come where?" He asks as he lifts himself up from the bed

"Symbiote"

"Oh shite yeah I forgot about that, of course I'll come let me just grab some food" he says before rushing off towards the kitchen

I slip out of my clothes and suit that I hadn't bothered to take off last night and I change into the suit I had asked to have some extra modifications to.

I put on the full suit instead of my normal upper body one and walk out of my room. I go into the kitchen and see Hobie spreading some butter on toast. Without even looking at me he says that there's some for me on the side and I pick it up.

"So where are we going exactly?" He asks as he finally looks up at me, "It's a city about half an hour from here, I just figured we use the portals to get there" I say as I nudge him to move so I can get the butter

But I notice something odd... since he first looked at me his gaze hasn't shifted whatsoever. "what?" I ask

"When'd you get that?" He asks looking me up and down

"I've always had it, well Miguel did for awhile but I got it back" Hobie's eyes are still glued to me as I talk and once I finish I follow his gaze and realise where he's actually been looking.

I bring my hand down to my hips and snap my fingers in his line of vision "eyes up here perv"

His eyes go wide as looks back up at me before looking away. I hear him mumble a quiet sorry before going back to his food.

He normally gets really defensive or jokey when I say anything like that...

Hobie stays quiet, the only movement coming from him apart from chewing is a few quick glances at me every so often. There's an awkward tension filling the air that I can't help but break.

"You alright?" Is the only thing I can think to ask to break the uneasy quiet

He nods and swallows his food before talking "just thinking"

"yeah not to siked to fight this guy either" I remark before walking over to the fridge to grab some oj

"That's not- yeah, I'm not really fond of them" He says

"Yeah neither, cause my canon event" I admit as I walk back over to him to grab a glass. Unfortunately Hobie's leaning right on the counter where the cup cabinet is. I lean over him and grab one before he talks

"Uh, which one?" He asks as he looks down at me

"Uncle" I say simply before giving him a 'don't ask' look.

"Sorry..." he replies

Why is everything so awkward this morning, he literally slept on top of me last night

"Are you sure you're alright?" I ask again, wanting to get to the bottom of the awkwardness. Hobie takes a deep breath in before nodding with a smile

Well that changed quick

"Yeah sorry, just tired" he smiles as he throws his plates and cutlery into the dishwasher

"Same, I really wish we didn't have to fight this early" I remark as I finish eating

"What time is it even?" He asks before looking over at the clock on the wall

"Yikes too early" He chuckles before grabbing his mask from out of his pocket and putting it on. "Let's go then yeah?" He asks and I nod before opening a portal.

We hop through and go to a different dimension before I input the coordinates of the city and opening another.

We jump through and land on a building that looks out over the city.

here I come.
