What happens between this and the novel?
• Vanathi starts living with Kundavai and Arulmozhi notices her.
• Maduranthakan meets other chieftains and establishes acquaintance with with them. Several rumours start spreading about him - he is marrying girls from all clans, he has three wives, two wives, a son, etc.
• Pazhuvettaraiyar only intended Maduranthakan to replace Sundara Cholan gradually, but Maduranthakan starts thinking that kingship was wrongfully denied to him. He wants to be crowned immediately because he believes that Arinjayan and Sundara Cholan had no right to become kings in the first place.
• Arulmozhi Varman drives the economy of the country into the ground with his war policies. Unlike the historical Rajaraja Cholan who was notorious for his destructive wars, book!Arulmozhi Varman conducts wars like a football match without bothering the civilians. Finance minister Pazhuvettaraiyar feels angry about sending supplies from mainland to abroad.
• Aditha Karikalan stops his invasions and starts sending supplies to Arulmozhi's troops, which makes Pazhuvettaraiyar think that he is wasting all the money on the golden palace.
• Aabathudavigal makes their own plans.
• Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar complaints to his brother and the Emperor, who are too scared to confront their own demons. Nandini stops interracting with him.
Nandini isn't directly involved in any of this.
