A warm hand finds my shoulder.
"Lux, are you alright?"
I hear Kit's voice. Justice didn't follow me in here. Just Kit.
I have nothing against Justice. They're one of my best friends, but it seems like... I don't know... I guess it seems like they don't usually enjoy being around me.
Kit tells me that it's bullshit, but I don't know.
"Come on, let's get you back to bed." Kit says quietly, wrapping his arm around me, guiding me to his bed.
Normally, I would resist. I would probably punch him. However, it seems like I'm hungover, and I can't exactly do that right now.
What a bummer.
Wait, why isn't Charlie here? I pause and hesitate for a moment.
"Where is Charlie?" I ask, and my voice is almost gone. That's either due to the throwing up, or the hangover, or both.
Kit helps me onto the bed, not responding for a moment. I start to think something bad happened, or she's mad at me. I mean, I can't exactly blame her. If my best friend (that may or may not be girlfriend by now) kissed my abusive ex-boyfriend, I'd be pretty pissed too.
Unexpectedly, Kit chuckles softly.
"She's getting food from Wendy's or something like that."
I'm hit with a wave of guilt and shame. I still have those fries in my bag. They're probably bad by now.
Whatever. It's fine. I'm not that hungry anyway.
Interrupting my thoughts, Charlie walks into the room with a large bag from Wendy's.
"Oh, Lux! You're awake." She smiles at me as she puts the bag down on Kit's desk.
I slightly panic, not knowing how to respond. I just smile back, awkwardly. Kit smirks at me, and I roll my eyes. I think about flipping him off, but that would just be obvious, and I don't want to do that again after yesterday's incident.
Wait, is it Friday already?
I glance over at the clock, and it's 4:39am.
"Why are you guys awake..?" I manage to ask in my pathetic excuse of a voice.
"We wanted to make sure you weren't dead." Justice replies in a tone that makes it seem as though that was already obvious. They roll their eyes.
"No, but... you guys should be asleep."
Kit laughs gently again.
"Lux, we're fine. We might as well screw up our sleep schedules along with you." He smiles.
"But aren't any of you tired?"
"Hell yes." Justice responds quickly, before adding, "But, at least we don't have to go to school tomorrow."
"Justice.." Kit glares at them.
"Oh, c'mon. We might as well." They pleaded, smirking.
He sighs heavily, giving in.
"Fine. BUT, we are not missing school on Monday."
"Deal." They reply, their smirk growing.
Charlie gives Kit his food, and then gives Justice theirs. She looks at me.
Are you hungry? She mouths.
I shake my head.
I know I'm lying, but I don't want to eat. I can't eat.
