I've been staring at the plate of toast in front of me for 20 minutes.

I feel absolutely ridiculous.

It shouldn't be this hard to eat.

"Lux?" I hear Kit's voice ask through the door, followed by a couple soft knocks.

"Yeah?" I asked, my voice a bit raspy.

Kit quietly comes into the room, leaving the door partially open. He's holding something in his closed palm. At first, I'm a bit confused, until I realize the two, tiny objects in his hand.

"What are those for?" I ask, skeptically glancing at the ivory pills.

"Epilepsy. You need to take them, Lux. Alright?" He looks me in the eye, and I'm forced to look away.

I hate when he does that.

When he looks directly at me.

At least, I think I do.

"I really don't think it's necessar-"

"You're taking them; that's not up for discussion." He cuts me off, his voice stern.

Kit hands me a bottle of water, and the pills.

"Are you able to swallow pills?"

I nod, and glace down at my hand, with the white pills in my palm.

Hesitantly, I put the pills into my mouth, and take a sip of water, swallowing both of them.

I try my hardest not to gag. The pills taste bitter, and I struggle to swallow them fully, but somehow, I manage.

I'm silent for a moment, before scoffing,

"That tasted absolutely vile."

Kit lightly laughs, and I realize that it's the first time he's laughed in quite a while.

We're completely silent again, and I break the silence once more.

"So~... How are things going with Justice?" I smirk while speaking in a teasing tone. My smirk grows when I see Kit's face turn bright red with blush.

"What do you mean? Nothing's going with Justice? What makes you think that?"

"Your obvious flirting."

"It's not obvious. Wait.. is it?"

I bite back a laugh.

"Yes; very."

This only prompts Kit's face to turn an even brighter shade of red. This time, I can't hold back my laughter.

"Shut up!" He rolled his eyes, but I can tell he's also laughing.

"What about you and Charlie?" He asks so suddenly, and I'm far too unprepared to respond.

I swallow hard, and I'm barely able to speak.

"I don't really know..."

I explain everything to him, and he listens intently.
